  • Jeremiah 9:23 - The Lord says, “Do not let wise people brag about how wise they are. Do not let strong people boast about how strong they are. Do not let rich people brag about how rich they are.
  • 1 John 4:4 - Dear children, you belong to God. You have not accepted the teachings of the false prophets. That’s because the one who is in you is powerful. He is more powerful than the one who is in the world.
  • John 13:33 - “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me. Just as I told the Jews, so I am telling you now. You can’t come where I am going.
  • Revelation 3:17 - You say, “I am rich. I’ve become wealthy and don’t need anything.” But you don’t realize how pitiful and miserable you have become. You are poor, blind and naked.
  • 1 Timothy 6:17 - Command people who are rich in this world not to be proud. Tell them not to put their hope in riches. Wealth is so uncertain. Command those who are rich to put their hope in God. He richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
  • Psalm 52:7 - “Just look at this fellow! He didn’t depend on God for his safety. He put his trust in all his wealth. He grew strong by destroying others!”
  • James 5:1 - You rich people, listen to me. Cry and weep, because you will soon be suffering.
  • James 5:2 - Your riches have rotted. Moths have eaten your clothes.
  • James 5:3 - Your gold and silver have lost their brightness. Their dullness will be a witness against you. Your wanting more and more will eat your body like fire. You have stored up riches in these last days.
  • Proverbs 11:28 - Those who trust in their riches will fall. But those who do right will be as healthy as a green leaf.
