  • 2 Kings 19:35 - Then it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went forth and struck down 185,000 [men] in the camp of the Assyrians; when the survivors got up early in the morning, behold, all [185,000] of them were dead.
  • 2 Kings 17:3 - Shalmaneser [V] king of Assyria came up against him, and Hoshea became his servant and paid him tribute (money).
  • 2 Kings 17:4 - But the king of Assyria discovered a conspiracy in Hoshea, who sent messengers to So, king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year; therefore the king of Assyria arrested him and bound him in prison.

  • Isaiah 10:11 - Shall I not do to Jerusalem and her images Just as I have done to Samaria and her idols?” [declares Assyria].
  • Isaiah 10:12 - So when the Lord has completed all His work [of judgment] on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, He will say, “I will punish the fruit [the thoughts, the declarations, and the actions] of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the haughtiness of his pride.”

  • 2 Kings 18:14 - Then Hezekiah king of Judah sent word to the king of Assyria at Lachish, saying, “I have done wrong. Withdraw from me; whatever you impose on me I will bear.” So the king of Assyria imposed on Hezekiah king of Judah [a tribute tax of] three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
  • 2 Kings 18:15 - Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house (temple) of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the king’s house (palace).
  • 2 Chronicles 33:11 - So the Lord brought the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria against them, and they captured Manasseh with hooks [through his nose or cheeks] and bound him with bronze [chains] and took him to Babylon.
  • Genesis 10:8 - Cush became the father of Nimrod; he became a mighty one on the earth.
