1 Peter 4:18 - And also, “If the righteous are barely saved, what will happen to godless sinners?”
Ezekiel 15:2 - “Son of man, how does a grapevine compare to a tree? Is a vine’s wood as useful as the wood of a tree?
Ezekiel 15:3 - Can its wood be used for making things, like pegs to hang up pots and pans?
Ezekiel 15:4 - No, it can only be used for fuel, and even as fuel, it burns too quickly.
Ezekiel 15:5 - Vines are useless both before and after being put into the fire!
Ezekiel 15:6 - “And this is what the Sovereign Lord says: The people of Jerusalem are like grapevines growing among the trees of the forest. Since they are useless, I have thrown them on the fire to be burned.
Ezekiel 15:7 - And I will see to it that if they escape from one fire, they will fall into another. When I turn against them, you will know that I am the Lord.
Malachi 3:1 - “Look! I am sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then the Lord you are seeking will suddenly come to his Temple. The messenger of the covenant, whom you look for so eagerly, is surely coming,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
Malachi 3:2 - “But who will be able to endure it when he comes? Who will be able to stand and face him when he appears? For he will be like a blazing fire that refines metal, or like a strong soap that bleaches clothes.
Malachi 3:3 - He will sit like a refiner of silver, burning away the dross. He will purify the Levites, refining them like gold and silver, so that they may once again offer acceptable sacrifices to the Lord.
Psalms 92:13 - For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God.
Psalms 92:14 - Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.
Matthew 7:19 - So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire.
Luke 13:6 - Then Jesus told this story: “A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed.
Luke 13:7 - Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’
Luke 13:8 - “The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer.
Luke 13:9 - If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.’”
John 15:2 - He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.
Luke 3:9 - Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.”
John 15:6 - Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.
