  • Nehemiah 8:4 - The scribe Ezra stood on a high wooden platform made for this purpose. Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah stood beside him on his right; to his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hash-baddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
  • Nehemiah 8:5 - Ezra opened the book in full view of all the people, since he was elevated above everyone. As he opened it, all the people stood up.
  • Nehemiah 8:6 - Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God, and with their hands uplifted all the people said, “Amen, Amen!” Then they knelt low and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
  • Nehemiah 8:7 - Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah, who were Levites, explained the law to the people as they stood in their places.
  • Nehemiah 8:8 - They read out of the book of the law of God, translating and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was read.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:22 - Then Hezekiah encouraged all the Levites who performed skillfully before the Lord. They ate at the appointed festival for seven days, sacrificing fellowship offerings and giving thanks to the Lord, the God of their ancestors.
  • Isaiah 42:19 - Who is blind but my servant, or deaf like my messenger I am sending? Who is blind like my dedicated one, or blind like the servant of the Lord?
  • Ezra 7:10 - Now Ezra had determined in his heart to study the law of the Lord, obey it, and teach its statutes and ordinances in Israel.
  • John 13:20 - Truly I tell you, whoever receives anyone I send receives me, and the one who receives me receives him who sent me.”
  • 2 Chronicles 17:8 - The Levites with them were Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah; the priests, Elishama and Jehoram, were with these Levites.
  • 2 Chronicles 17:9 - They taught throughout Judah, having the book of the Lord’s instruction with them. They went throughout the towns of Judah and taught the people.
  • Jeremiah 15:19 - Therefore, this is what the Lord says: If you return, I will take you back; you will stand in my presence. And if you speak noble words, rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. It is they who must return to you; you must not return to them.
  • Deuteronomy 21:5 - Then the priests, the sons of Levi, will come forward, for the Lord your God has chosen them to serve him and pronounce blessings in his name, and they are to give a ruling in every dispute and case of assault.
  • Deuteronomy 17:8 - “If a case is too difficult for you — concerning bloodshed, lawsuits, or assaults  — cases disputed at your city gates, then go up to the place the Lord your God chooses.
  • Deuteronomy 17:9 - You are to go to the Levitical priests and to the judge who presides at that time. Ask, and they will give you a verdict in the case.
  • Deuteronomy 17:10 - You must abide by the verdict they give you at the place the Lord chooses. Be careful to do exactly as they instruct you.
  • Deuteronomy 17:11 - You must abide by the instruction they give you and the verdict they announce to you. Do not turn to the right or the left from the decision they declare to you.
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:8 - Consequently, anyone who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.
  • 2 Timothy 2:24 - The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but must be gentle to everyone, able to teach, and patient,
  • 2 Timothy 2:25 - instructing his opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance leading them to the knowledge of the truth.
  • Haggai 1:13 - Then Haggai, the Lord’s messenger, delivered the Lord’s message to the people: “I am with you  — this is the Lord’s declaration.”
  • Jeremiah 18:18 - Then certain ones said, “Come, let’s make plans against Jeremiah, for instruction will never be lost from the priest, or counsel from the wise, or a word from the prophet. Come, let’s denounce him and pay no attention to all his words.”
  • Leviticus 10:11 - and teach the Israelites all the statutes that the Lord has given to them through Moses.”
