  • Isaiah 6:10 - Make the hearts of these people stubborn. Plug up their ears. Close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes. They might hear with their ears. They might understand with their hearts. And they might turn to me and be healed.”
  • Acts 13:11 - Now the Lord’s hand is against you. You are going to go blind. For a while you won’t even be able to see the light of the sun.” Right away mist and darkness came over him. He tried to feel his way around. He wanted to find someone to lead him by the hand.

  • 2 Kings 6:19 - Elisha told them, “This isn’t the right road. This isn’t the right city. Follow me. I’ll lead you to the man you are looking for.” He led them to Samaria.
  • 2 Kings 6:20 - They entered the city. Then Elisha said, “Lord, open the eyes of these men. Help them see again.” Then the Lord opened their eyes. They looked around. And there they were, inside Samaria!
  • Psalm 81:12 - So I let them go their own stubborn way. I let them follow their own sinful plans.
  • Isaiah 29:10 - The Lord has made you fall into a deep sleep. He has closed the eyes of your prophets. He has covered the heads of your seers so they can’t see.

  • 2 Thessalonians 2:10 - So people who are dying will be fooled by this evil. These people are dying because they refuse to love the truth. The truth would save them.
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:11 - So God will fool them completely. Then they will believe the lie.
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:12 - Many will not believe the truth. They will take pleasure in evil. They will be judged.
  • Colossians 3:22 - Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything. Don’t do it just to please them when they are watching you. Obey them with an honest heart. Do it out of respect for the Lord.
  • Mark 4:12 - In that way, “ ‘They will see but never know what they are seeing. They will hear but never understand. Otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’ ” ( Isaiah 6:9 , 10 )
  • Jeremiah 5:21 - ‘Listen to this, you foolish people, who do not have any sense. You have eyes, but you do not see. You have ears, but you do not hear.
  • Mark 8:18 - Do you have eyes and still don’t see? Do you have ears and still don’t hear? And don’t you remember?
  • 2 Corinthians 1:12 - Here is what we take pride in. Our sense of what is right and wrong tells us how we have acted. We have lived with honor and godly honesty. We have depended on God’s grace and not on the world’s wisdom. We lived that way most of all when we were dealing with you.

  • Acts 26:18 - to open their eyes. I want you to turn them from darkness to light. I want you to turn them from Satan’s power to God. I want their sins to be forgiven. They will be forgiven when they believe in me. They will have their place among God’s people.’
  • Romans 11:8 - It is written, “God made it hard for them to understand. He gave them eyes that could not see. He gave them ears that could not hear. And they are still like that today.” ( Deuteronomy 29:4 ; Isaiah 29:10 )
  • Romans 11:9 - David says, “Let their feast be a trap and a snare. Let them trip and fall. Let them get what’s coming to them.
  • Romans 11:10 - Let their eyes grow dark so they can’t see. Let their backs be bent forever.” ( Psalm 69:22 , 23 )
  • 2 Corinthians 11:3 - But Eve’s mind was tricked by the snake’s clever lies. And here’s what I’m afraid of. Your minds will also somehow be led astray. They will be led away from your true and pure love for Christ.
  • Psalm 119:18 - Open my eyes so that I can see the wonderful truths in your law.
  • Matthew 6:22 - “The eye is like a lamp for the body. Suppose your eyes are healthy. Then your whole body will be full of light.
  • Matthew 6:23 - But suppose your eyes can’t see well. Then your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light inside you is darkness, then it is very dark!
