  • Amos 3:10 - “My people have forgotten how to do right,” says the Lord. “Their fortresses are filled with wealth taken by theft and violence.

  • Psalms 74:8 - Then they thought, “Let’s destroy everything!” So they burned down all the places where God was worshiped.
  • Lamentations 2:7 - The Lord has rejected his own altar; he despises his own sanctuary. He has given Jerusalem’s palaces to her enemies. They shout in the Lord’s Temple as though it were a day of celebration.
  • Micah 3:12 - Because of you, Mount Zion will be plowed like an open field; Jerusalem will be reduced to ruins! A thicket will grow on the heights where the Temple now stands.
  • 2 Chronicles 36:19 - Then his army burned the Temple of God, tore down the walls of Jerusalem, burned all the palaces, and completely destroyed everything of value.
  • Psalms 79:1 - O God, pagan nations have conquered your land, your special possession. They have defiled your holy Temple and made Jerusalem a heap of ruins.
