  • Jeremiah 7:3 - This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: “‘Even now, if you quit your evil ways, I will let you stay in your own land.
  • Jeremiah 7:4 - But don’t be fooled by those who promise you safety simply because the Lord’s Temple is here. They chant, “The Lord’s Temple is here! The Lord’s Temple is here!”
  • Jeremiah 7:5 - But I will be merciful only if you stop your evil thoughts and deeds and start treating each other with justice;
  • Jeremiah 7:6 - only if you stop exploiting foreigners, orphans, and widows; only if you stop your murdering; and only if you stop harming yourselves by worshiping idols.
  • Jeremiah 7:7 - Then I will let you stay in this land that I gave to your ancestors to keep forever.
  • Jonah 3:9 - Who can tell? Perhaps even yet God will change his mind and hold back his fierce anger from destroying us.”
  • Jonah 3:10 - When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened.
  • Joel 2:13 - Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.
  • Joel 2:14 - Who knows? Perhaps he will give you a reprieve, sending you a blessing instead of this curse. Perhaps you will be able to offer grain and wine to the Lord your God as before.
  • Judges 2:18 - Whenever the Lord raised up a judge over Israel, he was with that judge and rescued the people from their enemies throughout the judge’s lifetime. For the Lord took pity on his people, who were burdened by oppression and suffering.
  • Jeremiah 26:3 - Perhaps they will listen and turn from their evil ways. Then I will change my mind about the disaster I am ready to pour out on them because of their sins.
  • Jeremiah 26:13 - But if you stop your sinning and begin to obey the Lord your God, he will change his mind about this disaster that he has announced against you.
  • Hosea 11:8 - “Oh, how can I give you up, Israel? How can I let you go? How can I destroy you like Admah or demolish you like Zeboiim? My heart is torn within me, and my compassion overflows.
  • Ezekiel 18:21 - But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die.
