  • Jeremiah 10:8 - The people of those nations are both stupid and foolish. Instruction from a wooden idol is worthless!
  • Jeremiah 10:9 - Hammered-out silver is brought from Tarshish and gold is brought from Uphaz to cover those idols. They are the handiwork of carpenters and goldsmiths. They are clothed in blue and purple clothes. They are all made by skillful workers.
  • Isaiah 44:15 - A man uses it to make a fire; he takes some of it and warms himself. Yes, he kindles a fire and bakes bread. Then he makes a god and worships it; he makes an idol and bows down to it.
  • Jeremiah 11:17 - For though I, the Lord who rules over all, planted you in the land, I now decree that disaster will come on you because the nations of Israel and Judah have done evil and have made me angry by offering sacrifices to the god Baal.”
  • Jeremiah 10:15 - They are worthless, mere objects to be mocked. When the time comes to punish them, they will be destroyed.
  • Ezekiel 24:14 - “‘I the Lord have spoken; judgment is coming and I will act! I will not relent, or show pity, or be sorry! I will judge you according to your conduct and your deeds, declares the sovereign Lord.’”
  • 2 Chronicles 15:2 - He met Asa and told him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin! The Lord is with you when you are loyal to him. If you seek him, he will respond to you, but if you reject him, he will reject you.
  • Jeremiah 4:28 - Because of this the land will mourn and the sky above will grow black. For I have made my purpose known and I will not relent or turn back from carrying it out.”
  • Jeremiah 5:9 - I will surely punish them for doing such things!” says the Lord. “I will surely bring retribution on such a nation as this!”
  • Isaiah 65:3 - These people continually and blatantly offend me as they sacrifice in their sacred orchards and burn incense on brick altars.
  • 2 Chronicles 7:19 - “But if you people ever turn away from me, fail to obey the regulations and rules I instructed you to keep, and decide to serve and worship other gods,
  • Jeremiah 16:11 - Then tell them that the Lord says, ‘It is because your ancestors rejected me and paid allegiance to other gods. They have served them and worshiped them. But they have rejected me and not obeyed my law.
  • Jeremiah 2:17 - You have brought all this on yourself, Israel, by deserting the Lord your God when he was leading you along the right path.
  • Hosea 8:6 - That idol was made by a workman – it is not God! The calf idol of Samaria will be broken to bits.
  • Isaiah 37:19 - They have burned the gods of the nations, for they are not really gods, but only the product of human hands manufactured from wood and stone. That is why the Assyrians could destroy them.
  • Deuteronomy 31:16 - Then the Lord said to Moses, “You are about to die, and then these people will begin to prostitute themselves with the foreign gods of the land into which they are going. They will reject me and break my covenant that I have made with them.
  • 2 Kings 22:17 - This will happen because they have abandoned me and offered sacrifices to other gods, angering me with all the idols they have made. My anger will ignite against this place and will not be extinguished!’”
  • Hosea 11:2 - But the more I summoned them, the farther they departed from me. They sacrificed to the Baal idols and burned incense to images.
  • Joshua 24:20 - If you abandon the Lord and worship foreign gods, he will turn against you; he will bring disaster on you and destroy you, though he once treated you well.”
  • Jeremiah 4:12 - No, a wind too strong for that will come at my bidding. Yes, even now I, myself, am calling down judgment on them.’
  • Jeremiah 44:17 - Instead we will do everything we vowed we would do. We will sacrifice and pour out drink offerings to the goddess called the Queen of Heaven just as we and our ancestors, our kings, and our leaders previously did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem.   • Jeremiah 17:13 - You are the one in whom Israel may find hope. All who leave you will suffer shame. Those who turn away from you will be consigned to the nether world. For they have rejected you, the Lord, the fountain of life.
  • Acts 7:41 - At that time they made an idol in the form of a calf, brought a sacrifice to the idol, and began rejoicing in the works of their hands.
  • Isaiah 2:8 - Their land is full of worthless idols; they worship the product of their own hands, what their own fingers have fashioned.
  • Deuteronomy 28:20 - “The Lord will send on you a curse, confusing you and opposing you in everything you undertake until you are destroyed and quickly perish because of the evil of your deeds, in that you have forsaken me.
  • Jeremiah 7:9 - You steal. You murder. You commit adultery. You lie when you swear on oath. You sacrifice to the god Baal. You pay allegiance to other gods whom you have not previously known.
  • Jeremiah 19:4 - I will do so because these people have rejected me and have defiled this place. They have offered sacrifices in it to other gods which neither they nor their ancestors nor the kings of Judah knew anything about. They have filled it with the blood of innocent children.
