  • 2 Thessalonians 1:8 - With flaming fire he will mete out punishment on those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
  • Jeremiah 2:18 - What good will it do you then to go down to Egypt to seek help from the Egyptians? What good will it do you to go over to Assyria to seek help from the Assyrians?
  • Judges 2:20 - The Lord was furious with Israel. He said, “This nation has violated the terms of the agreement I made with their ancestors by disobeying me.
  • Exodus 34:12 - Be careful not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it become a snare among you.

  • Exodus 34:16 - and you then take his daughters for your sons, and when his daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will make your sons prostitute themselves to their gods as well.
  • Genesis 4:10 - But the Lord said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground!
  • Psalms 106:34 - They did not destroy the nations, as the Lord had commanded them to do.
  • Psalms 106:35 - They mixed in with the nations and learned their ways.
  • Psalms 106:36 - They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.

  • Psalms 106:38 - They shed innocent blood – the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted by bloodshed.
  • Psalms 106:39 - They were defiled by their deeds, and unfaithful in their actions.
  • Psalms 106:40 - So the Lord was angry with his people and despised the people who belong to him.
  • Jeremiah 7:23 - I also explicitly commanded them: “Obey me. If you do, I will be your God and you will be my people. Live exactly the way I tell you and things will go well with you.”
  • Jeremiah 7:24 - But they did not listen to me or pay any attention to me. They followed the stubborn inclinations of their own wicked hearts. They acted worse and worse instead of better.
  • Jeremiah 7:25 - From the time your ancestors departed the land of Egypt until now, I sent my servants the prophets to you again and again, day after day.
  • Jeremiah 7:26 - But your ancestors did not listen to me nor pay attention to me. They became obstinate and were more wicked than even their own forefathers.’”
  • Jeremiah 7:27 - Then the Lord said to me, “When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you. When you call out to them, they will not respond to you.
  • Jeremiah 7:28 - So tell them: ‘This is a nation that has not obeyed the Lord their God and has not accepted correction. Faithfulness is nowhere to be found in it. These people do not even profess it anymore.
  • Ezra 9:10 - “And now what are we able to say after this, our God? For we have forsaken your commandments
  • Ezra 9:11 - which you commanded us through your servants the prophets with these words: ‘The land that you are entering to possess is a land defiled by the impurities of the local residents! With their abominations they have filled it from one end to the other with their filthiness.
  • Ezra 9:12 - Therefore do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons, and do not take their daughters in marriage for your sons. Do not ever seek their peace or welfare, so that you may be strong and may eat the good of the land and may leave it as an inheritance for your children forever.’
  • Ezra 9:13 - “Everything that has happened to us has come about because of our wicked actions and our great guilt. Even so, our God, you have exercised restraint toward our iniquities and have given us a remnant such as this.
  • Exodus 23:32 - “You must make no covenant with them or with their gods.
  • Exodus 23:33 - They must not live in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”
  • Ezra 9:1 - Now when these things had been completed, the leaders approached me and said, “The people of Israel, the priests, and the Levites have not separated themselves from the local residents who practice detestable things similar to those of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
  • Ezra 9:2 - Indeed, they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy race has become intermingled with the local residents. Worse still, the leaders and the officials have been at the forefront of all of this!”
  • Ezra 9:3 - When I heard this report, I tore my tunic and my robe and ripped out some of the hair from my head and beard. Then I sat down, quite devastated.
  • Deuteronomy 20:16 - As for the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is going to give you as an inheritance, you must not allow a single living thing to survive.

  • Deuteronomy 7:25 - You must burn the images of their gods, but do not covet the silver and gold that covers them so much that you take it for yourself and thus become ensnared by it; for it is abhorrent to the Lord your God.
  • Deuteronomy 7:26 - You must not bring any abhorrent thing into your house and thereby become an object of divine wrath along with it. You must absolutely detest and abhor it, for it is an object of divine wrath.
  • 2 Corinthians 6:14 - Do not become partners with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
  • 2 Corinthians 6:15 - And what agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever?
  • 2 Corinthians 6:16 - And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said, “I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
  • 2 Corinthians 6:17 - Therefore “come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord, “and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you,
  • Jeremiah 2:31 - You people of this generation, listen to what the Lord says. “Have I been like a wilderness to you, Israel? Have I been like a dark and dangerous land to you? Why then do you say, ‘We are free to wander. We will not come to you any more?’
  • Jeremiah 2:32 - Does a young woman forget to put on her jewels? Does a bride forget to put on her bridal attire? But my people have forgotten me for more days than can even be counted.
  • Jeremiah 2:33 - “My, how good you have become at chasing after your lovers! Why, you could even teach prostitutes a thing or two!
  • Exodus 32:21 - Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you, that you have brought on them so great a sin?”
  • Psalms 78:55 - He drove the nations out from before them; he assigned them their tribal allotments and allowed the tribes of Israel to settle down.
  • Psalms 78:56 - Yet they challenged and defied the sovereign God, and did not obey his commands.
  • Psalms 78:57 - They were unfaithful and acted as treacherously as their ancestors; they were as unreliable as a malfunctioning bow.
  • Psalms 78:58 - They made him angry with their pagan shrines, and made him jealous with their idols.
  • Deuteronomy 12:2 - You must by all means destroy all the places where the nations you are about to dispossess worship their gods – on the high mountains and hills and under every leafy tree.
  • Deuteronomy 12:3 - You must tear down their altars, shatter their sacred pillars, burn up their sacred Asherah poles, and cut down the images of their gods; you must eliminate their very memory from that place.
  • Numbers 33:52 - you must drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images, all their molten images, and demolish their high places.
  • Numbers 33:53 - You must dispossess the inhabitants of the land and live in it, for I have given you the land to possess it.
  • Genesis 3:11 - And the Lord God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”
  • Genesis 3:12 - The man said, “The woman whom you gave me, she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it.”
  • Jeremiah 2:36 - Why do you constantly go about changing your political allegiances? You will get no help from Egypt just as you got no help from Assyria.
  • Deuteronomy 7:2 - and he delivers them over to you and you attack them, you must utterly annihilate them. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy!

  • Jeremiah 2:5 - This is what the Lord says: “What fault could your ancestors have possibly found in me that they strayed so far from me? They paid allegiance to worthless idols, and so became worthless to me.
  • 1 Peter 4:17 - For it is time for judgment to begin, starting with the house of God. And if it starts with us, what will be the fate of those who are disobedient to the gospel of God?
