  • 2 Chronicles 33:12 - When Manasseh was in trouble, he asked the Lord his God to help him. He made himself very humble in the sight of the God of his people.
  • 2 Chronicles 33:13 - Manasseh prayed to him. When he did, the Lord felt sorry for him. He answered his prayer. The Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.
  • Jeremiah 13:18 - Speak to the king and his mother. Tell them, “Come down from your thrones. Your glorious crowns are about to fall from your heads.”
  • Matthew 11:29 - Become my servants and learn from me. I am gentle and free of pride. You will find rest for your souls.
  • Daniel 4:25 - You will be driven away from people. You will live with the wild animals. You will eat grass just as an ox does. You will become wet with the dew of heaven. Seven periods of time will pass by for you. Then you will recognize that the Most High God rules over all kingdoms on earth. He gives them to anyone he wants.
  • Psalm 32:3 - When I kept silent about my sin, my body became weak because I groaned all day long.
  • Psalm 32:4 - Day and night you punished me. I became weaker and weaker as I do in the heat of summer.
  • Psalm 32:5 - Then I admitted my sin to you. I didn’t cover up the wrong I had done. I said, “I will admit my lawless acts to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
  • 2 Samuel 15:26 - But suppose he says, ‘I am not pleased with you.’ Then I accept that. Let him do to me what he thinks is best.”
  • Job 42:1 - Job replied to the Lord,
  • Job 42:2 - “I know that you can do anything. No one can keep you from doing what you plan to do.
  • Job 42:3 - You asked me, ‘Who do you think you are to disagree with my plans? You do not know what you are talking about.’ I spoke about things I didn’t completely understand. I talked about things that were too wonderful for me to know.
  • Job 42:4 - “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak. I will ask you some questions. Then I want you to answer me.’
  • Job 42:5 - My ears had heard about you. But now my own eyes have seen you.
  • Job 42:6 - So I hate myself. I’m really sorry for what I said about you. That’s why I’m sitting in dust and ashes.”
  • Job 40:3 - Job replied to the Lord,
  • Job 40:4 - “I’m not worthy. How can I reply to you? I’m putting my hand over my mouth. I’ll stop talking.
  • Job 40:5 - I spoke once. But I really don’t have any answer. I spoke twice. But I won’t say anything else.”
  • Psalm 66:3 - Say to God, “What wonderful things you do! Your power is so great that your enemies bow down to you in fear.
  • Romans 10:3 - They didn’t know that God’s power makes people right with himself. They tried to get right with God in their own way. They didn’t do it in God’s way.
  • Daniel 4:34 - At the end of that time I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up toward heaven. My mind became clear again. Then I praised the Most High God. I gave honor and glory to the God who lives forever. His rule will last forever. His kingdom will never end.
  • Daniel 4:35 - He considers all the nations on earth to be nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven. He does what he wants with the nations of the earth. No one can hold back his hand. No one can say to him, “What have you done?”
  • Daniel 4:36 - My honor and glory were returned to me when my mind became clear again. The glory of my kingdom was given back to me. My advisers and nobles came to me. And I was put back on my throne. I became even greater than I had been before.
  • Daniel 4:37 - Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, give praise and honor and glory to the King of heaven. Everything he does is right. All his ways are fair. He is able to bring down those who live proudly.
  • 1 Samuel 3:18 - So Samuel told him everything. He didn’t hide anything from him. Then Eli said, “He is the Lord. Let him do what he thinks is best.”
  • 1 Peter 2:13 - Follow the lead of every human authority. Do this for the Lord’s sake. Obey the emperor. He is the highest authority.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:8 - Don’t be stubborn. Don’t be as your people were. Obey the Lord. Come to his temple. He has set it apart to himself forever. Serve the Lord your God. Then he’ll stop being angry with you.
  • Job 1:21 - He said, “I was born naked. And I’ll leave here naked. The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away. May the name of the Lord be praised.”

  • Revelation 12:9 - The great dragon was thrown down to the earth, and his angels with him. The dragon is that old serpent called the devil, or Satan. He leads the whole world astray.

Satan, who brings charges against our brothers and sisters, has been thrown down. He brings charges against them in front of our God day and night.
  • Revelation 12:11 - They had victory over him by the blood the Lamb spilled for them. They had victory over him by speaking the truth about Jesus to others. They were willing to risk their lives, even if it led to death.
  • Matthew 4:3 - The tempter came to him. He said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
  • Matthew 4:4 - Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Man must not live only on bread. He must also live on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” ( Deuteronomy 8:3 )
  • Matthew 4:5 - Then the devil took Jesus to the holy city. He had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
  • Matthew 4:6 - “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. It is written, “ ‘The Lord will command his angels to take good care of you. They will lift you up in their hands. Then you won’t trip over a stone.’ ” ( Psalm 91:11 , 12 )
  • Matthew 4:7 - Jesus answered him, “It is also written, ‘Do not test the Lord your God.’ ” ( Deuteronomy 6:16 )
  • Matthew 4:8 - Finally, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain. He showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
  • Matthew 4:9 - “If you bow down and worship me,” he said, “I will give you all this.”
  • Matthew 4:10 - Jesus said to him, “Get away from me, Satan! It is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God. He is the only one you should serve.’ ” ( Deuteronomy 6:13 )
  • Matthew 4:11 - Then the devil left Jesus. Angels came and took care of him.
  • Luke 4:2 - There the devil tempted him for 40 days. Jesus ate nothing during that time. At the end of the 40 days, he was hungry.
  • Luke 4:3 - The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
  • Luke 4:4 - Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Man must not live only on bread.’ ” ( Deuteronomy 8:3 )
  • Luke 4:5 - Then the devil led Jesus up to a high place. In an instant, he showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world.
  • Luke 4:6 - He said to Jesus, “I will give you all their authority and glory. It has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.
  • Luke 4:7 - If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
  • Luke 4:8 - Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God. He is the only one you should serve.’ ” ( Deuteronomy 6:13 )
  • Luke 4:9 - Then the devil led Jesus to Jerusalem. He had Jesus stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here.
  • Luke 4:10 - It is written, “ ‘The Lord will command his angels to take good care of you.
  • Luke 4:11 - They will lift you up in their hands. Then you won’t trip over a stone.’ ” ( Psalm 91:11 , 12 )
  • Luke 4:12 - Jesus answered, “Scripture says, ‘Do not test the Lord your God.’ ” ( Deuteronomy 6:16 )
  • Luke 4:13 - When the devil finished all this tempting, he left Jesus until a better time.
  • 1 Peter 5:6 - So make yourselves humble. Put yourselves under God’s mighty hand. Then he will honor you at the right time.
  • Ephesians 6:11 - Put on all of God’s armor. Then you can remain strong against the devil’s evil plans.
  • Ephesians 6:12 - Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.
  • Ephesians 4:27 - Don’t give the devil a chance.
  • 1 Peter 5:8 - Be watchful and control yourselves. Your enemy the devil is like a roaring lion. He prowls around looking for someone to swallow up.
  • 1 Peter 5:9 - Stand up to him. Remain strong in what you believe. You know that you are not alone in your suffering. The family of believers throughout the world is going through the same thing.
