  • Genesis 22:16 - He said, “I am giving you my word that I will bless you. I will bless you because of what you have done,” announces the Lord. “You have not held back your son, your only son.
  • Genesis 22:17 - So I will certainly bless you. I will make the children born into your family as many as the stars in the sky. I will make them as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. They will take over the cities of their enemies.
  • Genesis 22:18 - All nations on earth will be blessed because of your children. All these things will happen because you have obeyed me.”
  • Romans 11:4 - How did God answer him? God said, “I have kept 7,000 people for myself. They have not bowed down to Baal.” ( 1 Kings 19:18 )
  • Isaiah 19:18 - At that time the people of five cities in Egypt will worship the Lord. He is the Lord who rules over all. They will use the Hebrew language when they worship him. They will promise to be faithful to him. One of those cities will be called the City of the Sun.
  • Isaiah 19:19 - At that time there will be an altar to the Lord in the middle of Egypt. There will be a monument to him at its border.
  • Isaiah 19:20 - They will remind people that the Lord who rules over all is worshiped in Egypt. The people there will cry out to the Lord. They will cry out because of those who treat them badly. He will send someone to stand up for them and save them. And he will set them free.
  • Isaiah 19:21 - So the Lord will make himself known to the people of Egypt. At that time they will recognize that he is the Lord. They will worship him by bringing sacrifices and grain offerings to him. They will make promises to the Lord. And they will keep them.
  • Nehemiah 10:29 - All the men joined the nobles of their people. They made a firm agreement. They made a promise and said they would be cursed if they didn’t keep it. They promised to follow the Law of God. It had been given through Moses, the servant of God. They promised to obey carefully all the commands, rules and laws of the Lord our Lord.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:14 - They made a promise to the Lord. They praised him out loud. They shouted. They blew trumpets and horns.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:15 - All the people of Judah were happy about the promise they had made. They turned to God with all their heart. When they did, they found him. So the Lord gave them peace and rest on every side.
  • Psalm 132:2 - Lord, he made a promise. Mighty One of Jacob, he made a promise to you.
  • Deuteronomy 6:13 - Worship the Lord your God. He is the only one you should serve. When you make promises, do so in his name.
  • Hebrews 6:13 - When God made his promise to Abraham, God gave his word. There was no one greater than himself to promise by. So he promised by making an appeal to himself.
  • Hebrews 6:14 - He said, “I will certainly bless you. I will give you many children.” ( Genesis 22:17 )
  • Hebrews 6:15 - Abraham was patient while he waited. Then he received what God promised him.
  • Hebrews 6:16 - People promise things by someone greater than themselves. Giving your word makes a promise certain. It puts an end to all arguing.
  • Hebrews 6:17 - So God gave his word when he made his promise. He wanted to make it very clear that his purpose does not change. He wanted those who would receive what was promised to know this.
  • Hebrews 6:18 - When God made his promise, he gave his word. He did this so we would have good reason not to give up. Instead, we have run to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope is set before us in God’s promise. So God made his promise and gave his word. These two things can’t change. He couldn’t lie about them.
  • Isaiah 45:19 - I have not spoken in secret. I have not spoken from a dark place. I have not said to Jacob’s people, ‘It is useless to look for me.’ I am the Lord. I always speak the truth. I always say what is right.
  • Isaiah 65:16 - They will ask me to bless their land. They will do it in my name. I am the one true God. They will make promises in their land. They will do it in my name. I am the one true God. The troubles of the past will be forgotten. They will be hidden from my eyes.
  • Psalm 63:11 - But the king will be filled with joy because of what God has done. All those who make promises in God’s name will be able to brag. But the mouths of liars will be shut.
  • Isaiah 55:11 - The words I speak are like that. They will not return to me without producing results. They will accomplish what I want them to. They will do exactly what I sent them to do.
  • Romans 14:10 - Now then, who are you to judge your brother or sister? Why do you act like you’re better than they are? We will all stand in God’s courtroom to be judged.
  • Romans 14:11 - It is written, “ ‘You can be sure that I live,’ says the Lord. ‘And you can be just as sure that everyone will kneel down in front of me. Every tongue will have to tell the truth about God.’ ” ( Isaiah 45:23 )
  • Romans 14:12 - So we will all have to explain to God the things we have done.
  • Philippians 2:10 - When the name of Jesus is spoken, everyone will kneel down to worship him. Everyone in heaven and on earth and under the earth will kneel down to worship him.
