  • Isaiah 59:4 - No one cares about being fair and honest. The people’s lawsuits are based on lies. They conceive evil deeds and then give birth to sin.
  • Isaiah 51:13 - Yet you have forgotten the Lord, your Creator, the one who stretched out the sky like a canopy and laid the foundations of the earth. Will you remain in constant dread of human oppressors? Will you continue to fear the anger of your enemies? Where is their fury and anger now? It is gone!
  • Mark 2:6 - But some of the teachers of religious law who were sitting there thought to themselves,
  • Mark 2:7 - “What is he saying? This is blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!”
  • Revelation 12:10 - Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last— salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth— the one who accuses them before our God day and night.
  • Luke 23:35 - The crowd watched and the leaders scoffed. “He saved others,” they said, “let him save himself if he is really God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”
  • Habakkuk 1:6 - I am raising up the Babylonians, a cruel and violent people. They will march across the world and conquer other lands.
  • Habakkuk 1:7 - They are notorious for their cruelty and do whatever they like.
  • Luke 6:7 - The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees watched Jesus closely. If he healed the man’s hand, they planned to accuse him of working on the Sabbath.
  • Isaiah 28:14 - Therefore, listen to this message from the Lord, you scoffing rulers in Jerusalem.
  • Isaiah 28:15 - You boast, “We have struck a bargain to cheat death and have made a deal to dodge the grave. The coming destruction can never touch us, for we have built a strong refuge made of lies and deception.”
  • Isaiah 28:16 - Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken.
  • Isaiah 28:17 - I will test you with the measuring line of justice and the plumb line of righteousness. Since your refuge is made of lies, a hailstorm will knock it down. Since it is made of deception, a flood will sweep it away.
  • Isaiah 28:18 - I will cancel the bargain you made to cheat death, and I will overturn your deal to dodge the grave. When the terrible enemy sweeps through, you will be trampled into the ground.
  • Isaiah 28:19 - Again and again that flood will come, morning after morning, day and night, until you are carried away.” This message will bring terror to your people.
  • Isaiah 28:20 - The bed you have made is too short to lie on. The blankets are too narrow to cover you.
  • Isaiah 28:21 - The Lord will come as he did against the Philistines at Mount Perazim and against the Amorites at Gibeon. He will come to do a strange thing; he will come to do an unusual deed:
  • Isaiah 28:22 - For the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, has plainly said that he is determined to crush the whole land. So scoff no more, or your punishment will be even greater.
  • Isaiah 29:5 - “But suddenly, your ruthless enemies will be crushed like the finest of dust. Your many attackers will be driven away like chaff before the wind. Suddenly, in an instant,
  • Isaiah 13:3 - I, the Lord, have dedicated these soldiers for this task. Yes, I have called mighty warriors to express my anger, and they will rejoice when I am exalted.”
  • Luke 16:14 - The Pharisees, who dearly loved their money, heard all this and scoffed at him.
  • Micah 2:1 - What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night, thinking up evil plans. You rise at dawn and hurry to carry them out, simply because you have the power to do so.
