  • Ezekiel 38:4 - I will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws to lead you out with your whole army—your horses and charioteers in full armor and a great horde armed with shields and swords.

  • Jeremiah 50:42 - They are armed with bows and spears. They are cruel and show no mercy. As they ride forward on horses, they sound like a roaring sea. They are coming in battle formation, planning to destroy you, Babylon.
  • Jeremiah 50:43 - The king of Babylon has heard reports about the enemy, and he is weak with fright. Pangs of anguish have gripped him, like those of a woman in labor.
  • Jeremiah 50:44 - “I will come like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan, leaping on the sheep in the pasture. I will chase Babylon from its land, and I will appoint the leader of my choice. For who is like me, and who can challenge me? What ruler can oppose my will?”
  • Jeremiah 50:45 - Listen to the Lord’s plans against Babylon and the land of the Babylonians. Even the little children will be dragged off like sheep, and their homes will be destroyed.
  • Jeremiah 50:46 - The earth will shake with the shout, “Babylon has been taken!” and its cry of despair will be heard around the world.
  • Zechariah 14:13 - On that day they will be terrified, stricken by the Lord with great panic. They will fight their neighbors hand to hand.
  • Zechariah 14:14 - Judah, too, will be fighting at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the neighboring nations will be captured—great quantities of gold and silver and fine clothing.
  • Jeremiah 50:14 - “Yes, prepare to attack Babylon, all you surrounding nations. Let your archers shoot at her; spare no arrows. For she has sinned against the Lord.
  • Jeremiah 50:15 - Shout war cries against her from every side. Look! She surrenders! Her walls have fallen. It is the Lord’s vengeance, so take vengeance on her. Do to her as she has done to others!
  • Isaiah 22:1 - This message came to me concerning Jerusalem—the Valley of Vision : What is happening? Why is everyone running to the rooftops?
  • Isaiah 22:2 - The whole city is in a terrible uproar. What do I see in this reveling city? Bodies are lying everywhere, killed not in battle but by famine and disease.
  • Isaiah 22:3 - All your leaders have fled. They surrendered without resistance. The people tried to slip away, but they were captured, too.
  • Isaiah 22:4 - That’s why I said, “Leave me alone to weep; do not try to comfort me. Let me cry for my people as I watch them being destroyed.”
  • Isaiah 22:5 - Oh, what a day of crushing defeat! What a day of confusion and terror brought by the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, upon the Valley of Vision! The walls of Jerusalem have been broken, and cries of death echo from the mountainsides.
  • Isaiah 22:6 - Elamites are the archers, with their chariots and charioteers. The men of Kir hold up the shields.
  • Isaiah 22:7 - Chariots fill your beautiful valleys, and charioteers storm your gates.
  • Isaiah 22:8 - Judah’s defenses have been stripped away. You run to the armory for your weapons.
  • Isaiah 22:9 - You inspect the breaks in the walls of Jerusalem. You store up water in the lower pool.
  • Joel 2:25 - The Lord says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you.
  • Joel 2:1 - Sound the trumpet in Jerusalem ! Raise the alarm on my holy mountain! Let everyone tremble in fear because the day of the Lord is upon us.
  • Joel 2:2 - It is a day of darkness and gloom, a day of thick clouds and deep blackness. Suddenly, like dawn spreading across the mountains, a great and mighty army appears. Nothing like it has been seen before or will ever be seen again.
  • Joel 2:3 - Fire burns in front of them, and flames follow after them. Ahead of them the land lies as beautiful as the Garden of Eden. Behind them is nothing but desolation; not one thing escapes.
  • Joel 2:4 - They look like horses; they charge forward like warhorses.
  • Joel 2:5 - Look at them as they leap along the mountaintops. Listen to the noise they make—like the rumbling of chariots, like the roar of fire sweeping across a field of stubble, or like a mighty army moving into battle.
  • Joel 2:6 - Fear grips all the people; every face grows pale with terror.
  • Joel 2:7 - The attackers march like warriors and scale city walls like soldiers. Straight forward they march, never breaking rank.
  • Joel 2:8 - They never jostle each other; each moves in exactly the right position. They break through defenses without missing a step.
  • Joel 2:9 - They swarm over the city and run along its walls. They enter all the houses, climbing like thieves through the windows.
  • Joel 2:10 - The earth quakes as they advance, and the heavens tremble. The sun and moon grow dark, and the stars no longer shine.
  • Joel 2:11 - The Lord is at the head of the column. He leads them with a shout. This is his mighty army, and they follow his orders. The day of the Lord is an awesome, terrible thing. Who can possibly survive?
  • Ezekiel 38:3 - Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: Gog, I am your enemy!
  • Ezekiel 38:4 - I will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws to lead you out with your whole army—your horses and charioteers in full armor and a great horde armed with shields and swords.
  • Ezekiel 38:5 - Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya will join you, too, with all their weapons.
  • Ezekiel 38:6 - Gomer and all its armies will also join you, along with the armies of Beth-togarmah from the distant north, and many others.
  • Ezekiel 38:7 - “Get ready; be prepared! Keep all the armies around you mobilized, and take command of them.
  • Ezekiel 38:8 - A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel.
  • Ezekiel 38:9 - You and all your allies—a vast and awesome army—will roll down on them like a storm and cover the land like a cloud.
  • Ezekiel 38:10 - “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: At that time evil thoughts will come to your mind, and you will devise a wicked scheme.
  • Ezekiel 38:11 - You will say, ‘Israel is an unprotected land filled with unwalled villages! I will march against her and destroy these people who live in such confidence!
  • Ezekiel 38:12 - I will go to those formerly desolate cities that are now filled with people who have returned from exile in many nations. I will capture vast amounts of plunder, for the people are rich with livestock and other possessions now. They think the whole world revolves around them!’
  • Ezekiel 38:13 - But Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish will ask, ‘Do you really think the armies you have gathered can rob them of silver and gold? Do you think you can drive away their livestock and seize their goods and carry off plunder?’
  • Ezekiel 38:14 - “Therefore, son of man, prophesy against Gog. Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: When my people are living in peace in their land, then you will rouse yourself.
  • Ezekiel 38:15 - You will come from your homeland in the distant north with your vast cavalry and your mighty army,
  • Ezekiel 38:16 - and you will attack my people Israel, covering their land like a cloud. At that time in the distant future, I will bring you against my land as everyone watches, and my holiness will be displayed by what happens to you, Gog. Then all the nations will know that I am the Lord.
  • Ezekiel 38:17 - “This is what the Sovereign Lord asks: Are you the one I was talking about long ago, when I announced through Israel’s prophets that in the future I would bring you against my people?
  • Ezekiel 38:18 - But this is what the Sovereign Lord says: When Gog invades the land of Israel, my fury will boil over!
  • Ezekiel 38:19 - In my jealousy and blazing anger, I promise a mighty shaking in the land of Israel on that day.
  • Ezekiel 38:20 - All living things—the fish in the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the people on earth—will quake in terror at my presence. Mountains will be thrown down; cliffs will crumble; walls will fall to the earth.
  • Ezekiel 38:21 - I will summon the sword against you on all the hills of Israel, says the Sovereign Lord. Your men will turn their swords against each other.
  • Ezekiel 38:22 - I will punish you and your armies with disease and bloodshed; I will send torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and burning sulfur!
  • Ezekiel 38:23 - In this way, I will show my greatness and holiness, and I will make myself known to all the nations of the world. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
  • Revelation 19:11 - Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.
  • Revelation 19:12 - His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself.
  • Revelation 19:13 - He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God.
  • Revelation 19:14 - The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses.
  • Revelation 19:15 - From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress.
  • Revelation 19:16 - On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
  • Revelation 19:17 - Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to the vultures flying high in the sky: “Come! Gather together for the great banquet God has prepared.
  • Revelation 19:18 - Come and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great.”
  • Revelation 19:19 - Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army.
  • Revelation 19:20 - And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
  • Revelation 19:21 - Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came from the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And the vultures all gorged themselves on the dead bodies.
  • Joel 3:14 - Thousands upon thousands are waiting in the valley of decision. There the day of the Lord will soon arrive.
