  • Acts 24:18 - amidst which they found me purified in the temple, with no crowd, nor yet with tumult: but there were certain Jews from Asia—
  • Acts 24:19 - who ought to have been here before thee, and to make accusation, if they had aught against me.
  • Acts 24:20 - Or else let these men themselves say what wrong-doing they found when I stood before the council,
  • Acts 24:21 - except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question before you this day.
  • Acts 24:22 - But Felix, having more exact knowledge concerning the Way, deferred them, saying, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will determine your matter.
  • Acts 24:23 - And he gave order to the centurion that he should be kept in charge, and should have indulgence; and not to forbid any of his friends to minister unto him.
  • Acts 24:24 - But after certain days, Felix came with Drusilla, his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus.
  • Acts 24:25 - And as he reasoned of righteousness, and self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, Go thy way for this time; and when I have a convenient season, I will call thee unto me.
  • Acts 24:26 - He hoped withal that money would be given him of Paul: wherefore also he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.
  • Acts 24:27 - But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus; and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.
  • Ezra 5:5 - But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, and they did not make them cease, till the matter should come to Darius, and then answer should be returned by letter concerning it.
  • Ezra 5:6 - The copy of the letter that Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, and Shethar-bozenai, and his companions the Apharsachites, who were beyond the River, sent unto Darius the king;
  • Ezra 5:7 - they sent a letter unto him, wherein was written thus: Unto Darius the king, all peace.
  • Ezra 5:8 - Be it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Judah, to the house of the great God, which is builded with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls; and this work goeth on with diligence and prospereth in their hands.
  • Ezra 5:9 - Then asked we those elders, and said unto them thus, Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?
  • Ezra 5:10 - We asked them their names also, to certify thee, that we might write the names of the men that were at the head of them.
  • Ezra 5:11 - And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and are building the house that was builded these many years ago, which a great king of Israel builded and finished.
  • Ezra 5:12 - But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven unto wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.
  • Ezra 5:13 - But in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, Cyrus the king made a decree to build this house of God.
  • Ezra 5:14 - And the gold and silver vessels also of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto one whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
  • Ezra 5:15 - and he said unto him, Take these vessels, go, put them in the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be builded in its place.
  • Ezra 5:16 - Then came the same Sheshbazzar, and laid the foundations of the house of God which is in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now hath it been in building, and yet it is not completed.
  • Ezra 5:17 - Now therefore, if it seem good to the king, let there be search made in the king’s treasure-house, which is there at Babylon, whether it be so, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem; and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.
  • Nahum 1:11 - There is one gone forth out of thee, that deviseth evil against Jehovah, that counselleth wickedness.
