  • Ezekiel 17:22 - “ ‘The Lord and King says, “I myself will get a twig from the very top of a cedar tree and plant it. I will break off the highest twig. I will plant it on a very high mountain.
  • Ezekiel 17:23 - I will plant it on the high mountains of Israel. It will produce branches and bear fruit. It will become a beautiful cedar tree. All kinds of birds will make their nests in it. They will live in the shade of its branches.
  • Ezekiel 17:24 - All the trees in the forest will know that I bring down tall trees. I make short trees grow tall. I dry up green trees. And I make dry trees green.” “ ‘I have spoken. I will do this. I am the Lord.’ ”
  • Jeremiah 12:15 - But after I pull up those nations, I will give my tender love to them again. I will bring all of them back to their own lands. I will take all of them back to their own countries.
  • 1 Kings 12:16 - All the Israelites saw that the king refused to listen to them. So they answered the king. They said, “We don’t have any share in David’s royal family. We don’t have any share in Jesse’s son. People of Israel, let’s go back to our homes. David’s royal family, take care of your own kingdom!” So the Israelites went home.

  • 2 Samuel 7:13 - He is the one who will build a house where I will put my Name. I will set up the throne of his kingdom. It will last forever.
  • 2 Samuel 7:14 - I will be his father. And he will be my son. When he does what is wrong, I will use other men to beat him with rods and whips.
  • 2 Samuel 7:15 - I took my love away from Saul. I removed him from being king. You were there when I did it. But I will never take my love away from your son.
  • 2 Samuel 7:16 - Your royal house and your kingdom will last forever in my sight. Your throne will last forever.” ’ ”
  • Isaiah 9:6 - A child will be born to us. A son will be given to us. He will rule over us. And he will be called Wonderful Adviser and Mighty God. He will also be called Father Who Lives Forever and Prince Who Brings Peace.
  • Isaiah 9:7 - There will be no limit to how great his authority is. The peace he brings will never end. He will rule on David’s throne and over his kingdom. He will make the kingdom strong and secure. His rule will be based on what is fair and right. It will last forever. The Lord’s great love will make sure that happens. He rules over all.
  • Psalm 89:35 - Once and for all, I have made a promise. It is based on my holiness. And I will not lie to David.
  • Psalm 89:36 - His family line will continue forever. His kingdom will last as long as the sun.
  • Psalm 89:37 - It will last forever like the moon, that faithful witness in the sky.”
  • Psalm 89:38 - But you have turned your back on your anointed king. You have been very angry with him.
  • Psalm 89:39 - You have broken the covenant you made with him. You have thrown your servant’s crown into the dirt.
  • Psalm 89:40 - You have broken through the walls around his city. You have completely destroyed his secure places.
  • Psalm 89:41 - All those who pass by have carried off what belonged to him. His neighbors make fun of him.
  • Psalm 89:42 - You have made his enemies strong. You have made all of them happy.
  • Psalm 89:43 - You have made his sword useless. You have not helped him in battle.
  • Psalm 89:44 - You have put an end to his glory. You have knocked his throne to the ground.
  • Psalm 89:45 - You have cut short the days of his life. You have covered him with shame.
  • Psalm 89:46 - Lord, how long will you hide yourself? Will it be forever? How long will your anger burn like fire?
  • Psalm 89:47 - Remember how short my life is. You have created all people for such a useless purpose!
  • Psalm 89:48 - Who can live and not die? Who can escape the power of the grave?
  • Psalm 89:49 - Lord, where is the great love you used to have? You faithfully promised it to David.
  • Luke 1:31 - You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must call him Jesus.
  • Luke 1:32 - He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king like his father David of long ago.
  • Luke 1:33 - The Son of the Most High God will rule forever over his people. They are from the family line of Jacob. That kingdom will never end.”
  • Amos 9:11 - “The time will come when I will set up David’s fallen shelter. I will repair its broken walls. I will rebuild what was destroyed. I will make it what it used to be.
  • Amos 9:12 - Then my people will take control of those who are left alive in Edom. They will also possess all the nations that belong to me,” announces the Lord. He will do all these things.
