  • Genesis 7:8 - With them were all the various kinds of animals—those approved for eating and for sacrifice and those that were not—along with all the birds and the small animals that scurry along the ground.
  • Genesis 7:9 - They entered the boat in pairs, male and female, just as God had commanded Noah.
  • Genesis 7:10 - After seven days, the waters of the flood came and covered the earth.
  • Genesis 7:11 - When Noah was 600 years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the underground waters erupted from the earth, and the rain fell in mighty torrents from the sky.
  • Genesis 7:12 - The rain continued to fall for forty days and forty nights.
  • Genesis 7:13 - That very day Noah had gone into the boat with his wife and his sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth—and their wives.
  • Genesis 7:14 - With them in the boat were pairs of every kind of animal—domestic and wild, large and small—along with birds of every kind.
  • Genesis 7:15 - Two by two they came into the boat, representing every living thing that breathes.
  • Genesis 7:16 - A male and female of each kind entered, just as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord closed the door behind them.
  • Genesis 7:17 - For forty days the floodwaters grew deeper, covering the ground and lifting the boat high above the earth.
  • Genesis 7:18 - As the waters rose higher and higher above the ground, the boat floated safely on the surface.
  • Genesis 7:19 - Finally, the water covered even the highest mountains on the earth,
  • Genesis 7:20 - rising more than twenty-two feet above the highest peaks.
  • Genesis 7:21 - All the living things on earth died—birds, domestic animals, wild animals, small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the people.
  • Genesis 7:22 - Everything that breathed and lived on dry land died.
  • Genesis 7:23 - God wiped out every living thing on the earth—people, livestock, small animals that scurry along the ground, and the birds of the sky. All were destroyed. The only people who survived were Noah and those with him in the boat.
  • Genesis 7:24 - And the floodwaters covered the earth for 150 days.
  • Genesis 6:1 - Then the people began to multiply on the earth, and daughters were born to them.
  • Genesis 6:2 - The sons of God saw the beautiful women and took any they wanted as their wives.
  • Genesis 6:3 - Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.”
  • Genesis 6:4 - In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times.
  • Genesis 6:5 - The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.
  • Genesis 6:6 - So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.
  • Genesis 6:7 - And the Lord said, “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing—all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.”
  • Genesis 6:8 - But Noah found favor with the Lord.
  • Job 22:15 - “Will you continue on the old paths where evil people have walked?
  • Job 22:16 - They were snatched away in the prime of life, the foundations of their lives washed away.
  • Matthew 24:37 - “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day.
  • Matthew 24:38 - In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat.
  • Matthew 24:39 - People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.
  • Luke 17:26 - “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day.
  • Luke 17:27 - In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all.
  • 1 Peter 3:19 - So he went and preached to the spirits in prison—
  • 1 Peter 3:20 - those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood.
  • Jude 1:14 - Enoch, who lived in the seventh generation after Adam, prophesied about these people. He said, “Listen! The Lord is coming with countless thousands of his holy ones
  • Jude 1:15 - to execute judgment on the people of the world. He will convict every person of all the ungodly things they have done and for all the insults that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
  • Hebrews 11:7 - It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith.
  • 2 Peter 3:6 - Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood.
