  • Psalm 132:1 - Lord, remember David and all his self-denial.
  • Isaiah 9:7 - Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
  • 1 Kings 11:11 - So the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates.
  • 1 Kings 11:12 - Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son.
  • Jeremiah 33:15 - “ ‘In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land.
  • Jeremiah 33:16 - In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.’
  • Jeremiah 33:17 - For this is what the Lord says: ‘David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of Israel,
  • Jeremiah 33:18 - nor will the Levitical priests ever fail to have a man to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to present sacrifices.’ ”
  • Jeremiah 33:19 - The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:
  • Jeremiah 33:20 - “This is what the Lord says: ‘If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time,
  • Jeremiah 33:21 - then my covenant with David my servant—and my covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before me—can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne.
  • Jeremiah 33:22 - I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars in the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.’ ”
  • Jeremiah 33:23 - The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:
  • Jeremiah 33:24 - “Have you not noticed that these people are saying, ‘The Lord has rejected the two kingdoms he chose’? So they despise my people and no longer regard them as a nation.
  • Jeremiah 33:25 - This is what the Lord says: ‘If I have not made my covenant with day and night and established the laws of heaven and earth,
  • Jeremiah 33:26 - then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.’ ”
  • 1 Kings 11:39 - I will humble David’s descendants because of this, but not forever.’ ”
  • 2 Kings 21:4 - He built altars in the temple of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “In Jerusalem I will put my Name.”
  • Luke 1:32 - He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
  • Luke 1:33 - and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
  • 1 Kings 11:35 - I will take the kingdom from his son’s hands and give you ten tribes.
  • 1 Kings 11:36 - I will give one tribe to his son so that David my servant may always have a lamp before me in Jerusalem, the city where I chose to put my Name.
  • 2 Kings 19:34 - I will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant.’ ”
  • 2 Kings 13:23 - But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion and showed concern for them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To this day he has been unwilling to destroy them or banish them from his presence.
  • Deuteronomy 12:5 - But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name there for his dwelling. To that place you must go;
  • 1 Kings 11:32 - But for the sake of my servant David and the city of Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, he will have one tribe.
  • Deuteronomy 12:11 - Then to the place the Lord your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name—there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, and all the choice possessions you have vowed to the Lord.
  • 1 Kings 12:20 - When all the Israelites heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. Only the tribe of Judah remained loyal to the house of David.
