  • Exodus 40:13 - You shall put the holy garments on Aaron and anoint him and consecrate him, that he may serve as a priest to Me.
  • Exodus 40:14 - You shall bring his sons and put tunics on them;
  • Exodus 40:15 - you shall anoint them just as you anointed their father, so that they may serve as priests to Me; and their anointing shall qualify them for an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.”
  • Exodus 40:16 - Thus Moses did; in accordance with all that the Lord commanded him, so he did.
  • Exodus 40:17 - Now it happened on the first day of the first month (Abib) in the second year [after the exodus from Egypt], that the tabernacle was erected.
  • Exodus 40:18 - Moses erected the tabernacle, laid its sockets, set up its boards, put in its bars and erected its support poles.
  • Exodus 40:19 - He spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent over it, just as the Lord had commanded him.
  • Exodus 40:20 - He took the Testimony [the stones inscribed with the Ten Commandments] and put it into the ark [of the covenant], and placed the poles [through the rings] on the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark.
  • Exodus 40:21 - Moses brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up a veil (partition) for the screen (curtain), and screened off the ark of the Testimony, just as the Lord had commanded him.
  • Exodus 40:22 - Then he put the table in the Tent of Meeting on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil.
  • Exodus 40:23 - He set the bread [of the Presence] in order on it before the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded him.
  • Exodus 40:24 - Then he put the lampstand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the tabernacle.
  • Exodus 40:25 - Moses mounted and lighted the lamps [on the lampstand] before the Lord, just as the Lord commanded him.
  • Exodus 40:26 - He put the golden altar [of incense] in the Tent of Meeting in front of the veil;
  • Exodus 40:27 - he burned fragrant incense [as a symbol of prayer] on it, just as the Lord commanded him.
  • Exodus 40:28 - Then he set up the screen (curtain) at the doorway of the tabernacle.
  • Exodus 40:29 - He set the altar of burnt offering before the doorway of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the grain offering, just as the Lord commanded him.
  • Exodus 40:30 - He placed the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar [of burnt offering], and put water in it for washing.
  • Exodus 40:31 - Then from it Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet.
  • Exodus 40:32 - When they entered the Tent of Meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, just as the Lord commanded Moses.
  • Exodus 40:33 - And he erected the courtyard all around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung the screen (curtain) at the gateway of the courtyard. So Moses finished the work.
  • Exodus 40:34 - Then the cloud [the Shekinah, God’s visible, dwelling presence] covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
  • Exodus 40:35 - Moses was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud remained on it, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
  • Exodus 40:36 - In all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out;
  • Exodus 40:37 - but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey on until the day when it was taken up.
  • Exodus 40:38 - For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.
  • 1 Kings 3:4 - The king went to Gibeon [near Jerusalem, where the tabernacle and the bronze altar stood] to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place. Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.
  • 1 Kings 3:5 - In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream at night; and God said, “Ask [Me] what I shall give you.”
  • 1 Kings 3:6 - Then Solomon said, “You have shown Your servant David my father great lovingkindness, because he walked before You in faithfulness and righteousness and with uprightness of heart toward You; and You have kept for him this great lovingkindness, in that You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is today.
  • 1 Kings 3:7 - So now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king in place of David my father; and as for me, I am but a little boy [ in wisdom and experience]; I do not know how to go out or come in [that is, how to conduct business as a king].
  • 1 Kings 3:8 - Your servant is among Your people whom You have chosen, a great people who are too many to be numbered or counted.
  • 1 Kings 3:9 - So give Your servant an understanding mind and a hearing heart [with which] to judge Your people, so that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge and rule this great people of Yours?”
  • 1 Kings 3:10 - Now it pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this thing.
  • 1 Kings 3:11 - God said to him, “Because you have asked this and have not asked for yourself a long life nor for wealth, nor for the lives of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to recognize justice,
  • 1 Kings 3:12 - behold, I have done as you asked. I have given you a wise and discerning heart (mind), so that no one before you was your equal, nor shall anyone equal to you arise after you.
  • 1 Kings 3:13 - I have also given you what you have not asked, both wealth and honor, so that there will not be anyone equal to you among the kings, for all your days.
  • 1 Kings 3:14 - If you walk in My ways, keeping My statutes and My commandments, as your father David did, then I will lengthen your days.”
  • 1 Kings 3:15 - Then Solomon awoke, and he realized that it was a dream. He came [back] to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; he offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and he prepared a feast for all his servants.
  • 2 Chronicles 1:3 - Then Solomon and all the assembly went to the high place at Gibeon [to offer sacrifices, where the Canaanites had habitually worshiped], for God’s Tent of Meeting was there, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:39 - David left Zadok the priest and his relatives the priests before the dwelling place (tabernacle) of the Lord in the high place which was at Gibeon,
