you who lead 80:1 Ps. 78:67; 81:5Joseph like 80:1 [Ps. 95:7]; See Ps. 77:20a flock.
You who are 80:1 Ps. 99:1; Ex. 25:22; 1 Sam. 4:4; 2 Sam. 6:2enthroned upon the cherubim, 80:1 See Ps. 50:2shine forth.
2Before 80:2 See Num. 2:18-24Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh,
80:2 See Ps. 35:23stir up your might
and 80:2 [Ps. 118:14, 21]come to save us!

380:3 ver. 19; Ps. 60:1; 85:4; Lam. 5:21Restore us,80:3 Or Turn us again; also verses 7, 19 O God;
80:3 Num. 6:25; See Ps. 4:6let your face shine, that we may be saved!

4O 80:4 See Ps. 59:5Lord God of hosts,
80:4 [Ps. 74:10; 79:5]how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers?
5You have fed them with 80:5 Ps. 42:3; 102:9; [1 Kgs. 22:27; Isa. 30:20]the bread of tears
and given them tears to drink in full measure.
680:6 See Ps. 44:13You make us an object of contention for our 80:6 See Ps. 44:13neighbors,
and our enemies laugh among themselves.

780:7 [See ver. 3above]Restore us, O God of hosts;
let your face shine, that we may be saved!

8You brought 80:8 Isa. 5:1; 27:2; Jer. 2:21; 12:10; Ezek. 17:6; Matt. 21:33; Mark 12:1; Luke 20:9a vine out of Egypt;
you 80:8 See Ps. 44:2drove out the nations and planted it.
9You 80:9 [Josh. 24:12]cleared the ground for it;
it took deep root and filled the land.
10The mountains were covered with its shade,
the mighty cedars with its branches.
11It sent out its branches to 80:11 See Ps. 72:8the sea
and its shoots to 80:11 See Ps. 72:8the River.80:11 That is, the Euphrates
12Why then have you 80:12 Ps. 89:40; Isa. 5:5broken down its walls,
so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?
1380:13 [Jer. 5:6]The boar from the forest ravages it,
and all that move in the field feed on it.

14Turn again, O God of hosts!
80:14 [Isa. 63:15]Look down from heaven, and see;
have regard for this vine,
15the stock that your right hand planted,
and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.
16They have 80:16 Isa. 33:12burned it with fire; they have 80:16 Isa. 33:12cut it down;
may they perish at 80:16 Ps. 76:6; [Ps. 39:11]the rebuke of your face!
17But 80:17 Ps. 89:21let your hand be on the man of your right hand,
the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself!
18Then we shall not turn back from you;
80:18 See Ps. 71:20give us life, and we will call upon your name!

1980:19 ver. 3, 7Restore us, O Lord God of hosts!
