47:1 Ps. 95:1; [1 Sam. 10:24]Shout to God with loud songs of joy!

2For the Lord, the Most High, 47:2 Ps. 66:3, 5; 68:35; Deut. 7:21is to be feared,

47:2 Mal. 1:14a great king over all the earth.

3He 47:3 See Ps. 18:47subdued peoples under us,

and nations under our feet.

4He chose our 47:4 Ps. 2:8; [1 Pet. 1:4] heritage for us,

47:4 Amos 6:8; 8:7; Nah. 2:2the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Selah

5God 47:5 2 Sam. 6:15; [Ps. 68:18]has gone up with a shout,

the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

6Sing praises to God, sing praises!

Sing praises to our King, sing praises!

7For God is 47:7 Zech. 14:9the King of all the earth;

sing praises 47:7 1 Cor. 14:15with a psalm!47:7 Hebrew maskil

8God 47:8 Ps. 22:28; 1 Chr. 16:31reigns over the nations;

God sits on his holy throne.

947:9 [Ps. 72:11; Isa. 49:7, 23] The princes of the peoples gather

as the people of the God of Abraham.

For 47:9 Ps. 89:18the shields of the earth belong to God;

he is highly exalted!
