The Great Day of the Lord
14:1 Ch 4:1–6 is ch 3:19–24 in Hebrew “For behold, 4:1 [ver. 5; ch. 3:2] the day is coming, 4:1 [2 Thess. 1:7, 8] burning like an oven, when 4:1 ch. 3:15all the arrogant and 4:1 ch. 3:15all evildoers 4:1 Isa. 47:14; [Matt. 3:12; Luke 3:17]will be stubble. The day that is coming 4:1 Isa. 47:14; [Matt. 3:12; Luke 3:17]shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.
2But for you 4:2 ch. 3:16who fear my name, 4:2 Ps. 84:11; Luke 1:78; John 1:4; 8:12; 9:5; 12:46the sun 4:2 [Jer. 23:6] of righteousness shall rise 4:2 Isa. 53:5with healing in its wings. You shall go out 4:2 [Jer. 50:11]leaping like calves from the stall.
3And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, 4:3 See ch. 3:17on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.

54:5 [ch. 3:1] “Behold, I will send you 4:5 [Matt. 11:14; Mark 9:11; Luke 1:17] Elijah the prophet 4:5 Joel 2:31before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.
6And he will 4:6 [Luke 1:17] turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and 4:6 Isa. 11:4; [Zech. 5:3]strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”4:6 The Hebrew term rendered decree of utter destruction refers to things devoted (or set apart) to the Lord (or by the Lord) for destruction
