Isaiah6

Isaiah’s Vision of the Lord
1In the year that 6:1 ch. 1:1; 2 Chr. 26:16-21King Uzziah died I 6:1 [John 12:41]saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train6:1 Or hem of his robe filled the temple.
2Above him stood the seraphim. Each had 6:2 Rev. 4:8six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
3And one called to another and said:

6:3 [See ver. 2above] “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
6:3 Ps. 72:19the whole earth is full of his glory!”6:3 Or may his glory fill the whole earth

4And 6:4 Amos 9:1the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and 6:4 1 Kgs. 8:10, 11; Rev. 15:8; [Ex. 19:18]the house was filled with smoke.
5And I said: “Woe is me! 6:5 [Judg. 13:22] For I am lost; 6:5 [Luke 5:8] for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the 6:5 ch. 33:17; Jer. 10:10; [1 Sam. 12:12]King, the Lord of hosts!”
6Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar.
7And he 6:7 Jer. 1:9; Dan. 10:16touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”
Isaiah’s Commission from the Lord
8And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for 6:8 See Gen. 1:26us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
9And he said, “Go, and say to this people:

11Then I said, 6:11 Ps. 79:5; 89:46“How long, O Lord?”
And he said:
“Until 6:11 [ch. 1:7; 27:10]cities lie waste
without inhabitant,
and houses without people,
and the land is a desolate waste,

and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.
