Therefore, wait for me— this is the LORD’s declaration— until the day I rise up for plunder. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, in order to pour out my indignation on them, all my burning anger; for the whole earth will be consumed by the fire of my jealousy.

Therefore wait for me,” declares the Lord,“ for the day I will stand up to testify. I have decided to assemble the nations, to gather the kingdoms and to pour out my wrath on them— all my fierce anger. The whole world will be consumed by the fire of my jealous anger.

So wait for me to come as judge,” announces the Lord.“ Wait for the day I will stand up to witness against all sinners. I have decided to gather the nations. I will bring the kingdoms together. And I will pour out all my burning anger on them. The fire of my jealous anger will burn the whole world up.

“ Therefore wait for me,” declares the Lord,“ for the day when I rise up to seize the prey. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation, all my burning anger; for in the fire of my jealousy all the earth shall be consumed.

Therefore, be patient,” says the Lord.“ Soon I will stand and accuse these evil nations. For I have decided to gather the kingdoms of the earth and pour out my fiercest anger and fury on them. All the earth will be devoured by the fire of my jealousy.

“ Therefore wait for Me,” declares the Lord,“ For the day when I rise up as a witness. Indeed, My decision is to gather nations, To assemble kingdoms, To pour out on them My indignation, All My burning anger; For all the earth will be devoured By the fire of My zeal.

Therefore wait ye for me, saith Jehovah, until the day that I rise up to the prey; for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger; for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination[ is] to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation,[ even] all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Therefore you must wait patiently for me,” says the LORD,“ for the day when I attack and take plunder. I have decided to gather nations together and assemble kingdoms, so I can pour out my fury on them– all my raging anger. For the whole earth will be consumed by my fiery anger.

“ Therefore wait for me”, says Yahweh,“ until the day that I rise up to the prey, for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour on them my indignation, even all my fierce anger, for all the earth will be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

I will gather all the nations and take them to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. I will enter into judgment with them there because of my people, my inheritance Israel. The nations have scattered the Israelites in foreign countries and divided up my land.

Their silver and their gold will be unable to rescue them on the day of the LORD’s wrath. The whole earth will be consumed by the fire of his jealousy, for he will make a complete, yes, a horrifying end of all the inhabitants of the earth.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, the elements will burn and be dissolved, and the earth and the works on it will be disclosed.

I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations as he fights on a day of battle.

Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the LORD.

But I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.

Like a servant’s eyes on his master’s hand, like a servant girl’s eyes on her mistress’s hand, so our eyes are on the LORD our God until he shows us favor.

“‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: Certainly in my burning zeal I speak against the rest of the nations and all of Edom, who took my land as their own possession with wholehearted rejoicing and utter contempt so that its pastureland became plunder.Therefore, prophesy concerning Israel’s land, and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: This is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I speak in my burning zeal because you have endured the insults of the nations.

Don’t say,“ I will avenge this evil!” Wait on the LORD, and he will rescue you.

For they are demonic spirits performing signs, who travel to the kings of the whole world to assemble them for the battle on the great day of God, the Almighty.

Wait for the LORD and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. You will watch when the wicked are destroyed.

Be silent before the LORD and wait expectantly for him; do not be agitated by one who prospers in his way, by the person who carries out evil plans.

But you must return to your God. Maintain love and justice, and always put your hope in God.

Many nations have now assembled against you; they say,“ Let her be defiled, and let us feast our eyes on Zion.”But they do not know the LORD’s intentions or understand his plan, that he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.Rise and thresh, Daughter Zion, for I will make your horns iron and your hooves bronze so you can crush many peoples. Then you will set apart their plunder for the LORD, their wealth for the Lord of the whole earth.

He saw that there was no man— he was amazed that there was no one interceding; so his own arm brought salvation, and his own righteousness supported him.He put on righteousness as body armor, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and he wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.So he will repay according to their deeds: fury to his enemies, retribution to his foes, and he will repay the coasts and islands.

The LORD advances like a warrior; he stirs up his zeal like a soldier. He shouts, he roars aloud, he prevails over his enemies.“ I have kept silent from ages past; I have been quiet and restrained myself. But now, I will groan like a woman in labor, gasping breathlessly.

“ Because of the devastation of the needy and the groaning of the poor, I will now rise up,” says the LORD.“ I will provide safety for the one who longs for it.”

They have provoked my jealousy with what is not a god; they have enraged me with their worthless idols. So I will provoke their jealousy with what is not a people; I will enrage them with a foolish nation.For fire has been kindled because of my anger and burns to the depths of Sheol; it devours the land and its produce, and scorches the foundations of the mountains.

“ Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: On that day when my people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not know thisand come from your place in the remotest parts of the north— you and many peoples with you, who are all riding horses— a huge assembly, a powerful army?You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. It will happen in the last days, Gog, that I will bring you against my land so that the nations may know me, when I demonstrate my holiness through you in their sight.“‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: Are you the one I spoke about in former times through my servants, the prophets of Israel, who for years prophesied in those times that I would bring you against them?Now on that day, the day when Gog comes against the land of Israel— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD— my wrath will flare up.I swear in my zeal and fiery wrath: On that day there will be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.The fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, every creature that crawls on the ground, and every human being on the face of the earth will tremble before me. The mountains will be demolished, the cliffs will collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground.I will call for a sword against him on all my mountains— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD— and every man’s sword will be against his brother.I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed. I will pour out torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and burning sulfur on him, as well as his troops and the many peoples who are with him.I will display my greatness and holiness, and will reveal myself in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.’

The Lord awoke as if from sleep, like a warrior from the effects of wine.He beat back his foes; he gave them lasting disgrace.

I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.

The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the person who seeks him.It is good to wait quietly for salvation from the LORD.

I wait for the LORD; I wait and put my hope in his word.I wait for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning— more than watchmen for the morning.

All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it testifies about the end and will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late.

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he called out in a loud voice, saying to all the birds flying high overhead,“ Come, gather together for the great supper of God,so that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of military commanders, the flesh of the mighty, the flesh of horses and of their riders, and the flesh of everyone, both free and slave, small and great.”Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and against his army.

Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death; jealousy is as unrelenting as Sheol. Love’s flames are fiery flames— an almighty flame!

Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from him.

Therefore the LORD is waiting to show you mercy, and is rising up to show you compassion, for the LORD is a just God. All who wait patiently for him are happy.

Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for holy war; rouse the warriors; let all the men of war advance and attack!Beat your plows into swords and your pruning knives into spears. Let even the weakling say,“ I am a warrior.”Come quickly, all you surrounding nations; gather yourselves. Bring down your warriors there, LORD.Let the nations be roused and come to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit down to judge all the surrounding nations.Swing the sickle because the harvest is ripe. Come and trample the grapes because the winepress is full; the wine vats overflow because the wickedness of the nations is extreme.Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will cease their shining.The LORD will roar from Zion and make his voice heard from Jerusalem; heaven and earth will shake. But the LORD will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the Israelites.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, be patient until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and is patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains.You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.
