Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the Lord’s anger.

So look to him, all you people in the land who worship him faithfully. You always do what he commands you to do. Continue to do what is right. Don’t be proud. Then perhaps the Lord will keep you safe on the day he pours out his anger on the world.

Seek the Lord, all who are humble, and follow his commands. Seek to do what is right and to live humbly. Perhaps even yet the Lord will protect you— protect you from his anger on that day of destruction.

Seek the LORD’s favor, all you humble people of the land who have obeyed his commands! Strive to do what is right! Strive to be humble! Maybe you will be protected on the day of the LORD’s angry judgment.

Seek Yahweh, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of Yahweh’s anger.

Pursue good and not evil so that you may live, and the LORD, the God of Armies, will be with you as you have claimed.Hate evil and love good; establish justice at the city gate. Perhaps the LORD, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

when God rose up to judge and to save all the lowly of the earth. Selah

Go, my people, enter your rooms and close your doors behind you. Hide for a little while until the wrath has passed.For look, the LORD is coming from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will reveal the blood shed on it and will no longer conceal her slain.

The humble will eat and be satisfied; those who seek the LORD will praise him. May your hearts live forever!

You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.

Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

Who knows? God may turn and relent; he may turn from his burning anger so that we will not perish.

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call to him while he is near.Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, so he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will freely forgive.

Be gracious to me, God, be gracious to me, for I take refuge in you. I will seek refuge in the shadow of your wings until danger passes.

Sow righteousness for yourselves and reap faithful love; break up your unplowed ground. It is time to seek the LORD until he comes and sends righteousness on you like the rain.

Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.

Indeed, I will certainly deliver you so that you do not fall by the sword. Because you have trusted in me, you will retain your life like the spoils of war. This is the LORD’s declaration.’”

Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are protected.

Since you have purified yourselves by your obedience to the truth, so that you show sincere brotherly love for each other, from a pure heart love one another constantly,

“ Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

You hide them in the protection of your presence; you conceal them in a shelter from human schemes, from quarrelsome tongues.

but rather what is inside the heart— the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

For the LORD says to the house of Israel: Seek me and live!Do not seek Bethel or go to Gilgal or journey to Beer-sheba, for Gilgal will certainly go into exile, and Bethel will come to nothing.Seek the LORD and live, or he will spread like fire throughout the house of Joseph; it will consume everything with no one at Bethel to extinguish it.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

But as for you, do you pursue great things for yourself? Stop pursuing! For I am about to bring disaster on all humanity”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ but I will grant you your life like the spoils of war wherever you go.”’”

Additionally then, brothers and sisters, we ask and encourage you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have received instruction from us on how you should live and please God— as you are doing— do this even more.

The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead,I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus.

The LORD is good and upright; therefore he shows sinners the way.He leads the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.

Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the LORD your God. For he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, and he relents from sending disaster.Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind him, so you can offer a grain offering and a drink offering to the LORD your God.

Israel’s arrogance testifies against them, yet they do not return to the LORD their God, and for all this, they do not seek him.

If you return, Israel— this is the LORD’s declaration— you will return to me, if you remove your abhorrent idols from my presence and do not waver,then you can swear,“ As the LORD lives,” in truth, justice, and righteousness, and then the nations will be blessed by him and will boast in him.

The LORD of Armies says this:“ The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth will become times of joy, gladness, and cheerful festivals for the house of Judah. Therefore, love truth and peace.”

Two of every creature that has the breath of life in it came to Noah and entered the ark.Those that entered, male and female of every creature, entered just as God had commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in.

He answered,“ While the baby was alive, I fasted and wept because I thought,‘ Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let him live.’

Only acknowledge your guilt— you have rebelled against the LORD your God. You have scattered your favors to strangers under every green tree and have not obeyed me. This is the LORD’s declaration.“‘ Return, you faithless children— this is the LORD’s declaration— for I am your master, and I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners;

Are you a king because you excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink and administer justice and righteousness? Then it went well with him.He took up the case of the poor and needy; then it went well. Is this not what it means to know me? This is the LORD’s declaration.

Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to you immediately. When great floodwaters come, they will not reach him.You are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with joyful shouts of deliverance. Selah

In fact, you are doing this toward all the brothers and sisters in the entire region of Macedonia. But we encourage you, brothers and sisters, to do this even more,

but he will judge the poor righteously and execute justice for the oppressed of the land. He will strike the land with a scepter from his mouth, and he will kill the wicked with a command from his lips.

you are to reply,‘ It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt when he struck the Egyptians, and he spared our homes.’” So the people knelt low and worshiped.

because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and against its inhabitants, and because you humbled yourself before me, and you tore your clothes and wept before me, I myself have heard’— this is the LORD’s declaration.‘ I will indeed gather you to your ancestors, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes will not see all the disaster that I am bringing on this place and on its inhabitants.’” Then they reported to the king.
