此乃歡樂之邑、安居無慮、其心自謂惟我而已、我外無他、今奚荒寂、成為獸臥之所、凡經過者、必搖手而嗤笑之、

此乃淫佚之邑、僭稱主母、自謂莫之與京、今變荒蕪、獸伏其間、凡過之者、必作怨憤之聲、搖首不已。

此邑素淫樂、安居無畏、心中曰、惟有我、我外無他、忽變荒蕪、獸伏之處、凡過之者、俱戲笑搖首、

This is the city of revelry that lived in safety. She said to herself,“ I am the one! And there is none besides me.” What a ruin she has become, a lair for wild beasts! All who pass by her scoff and shake their fists.

Nineveh was a carefree city. It lived in safety. It said to itself,“ I am the one! No one is greater than I am.” But it has been destroyed. Wild animals make their home there. All those who pass by laugh and shake their fists at it.

This is the exultant city that lived securely, that said in her heart,“ I am, and there is no one else.” What a desolation she has become, a lair for wild beasts! Everyone who passes by her hisses and shakes his fist.

This is the boisterous city, once so secure.“ I am the greatest!” it boasted.“ No other city can compare with me!” But now, look how it has become an utter ruin, a haven for wild animals. Everyone passing by will laugh in derision and shake a defiant fist.

This is the jubilant city that lives in security, that says to herself: I exist, and there is no one else. What a desolation she has become, a place for wild animals to lie down! Everyone who passes by her scoffs and shakes his fist.

This is the presumptuous city That dwells securely, Who says in her heart,“ I am, and there is no one besides me.” How she has become a desolation, A resting place for animals! Everyone who passes by her will hiss And wave his hand in contempt.

This is the rejoicing city That dwelt securely, That said in her heart,“ I am it, and there is none besides me.” How has she become a desolation, A place for beasts to lie down! Everyone who passes by her Shall hiss and shake his fist.

This is the joyous city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none besides me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.

This is the self-assured city that lives in security, that thinks to herself: I exist, and there is no one else. What a desolation she has become, a place for wild animals to lie down! Everyone who passes by her jeers and shakes his fist.

This[ is] the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I[ am], and[ there is] none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss,[ and] wag his hand.

This is how the once-proud city will end up– the city that was so secure. She thought to herself,“ I am unique! No one can compare to me!” What a heap of ruins she has become, a place where wild animals live! Everyone who passes by her taunts her and shakes his fist.

「人子啊，你去告訴泰爾王，主耶和華這樣說，『你心裡高傲，說，我是神，我坐在海中神的寶座上。你雖然自以為像神，但事實上你不是神，不過是人。

你聲稱要永遠做王后，不把這些事放在心上，也不思想以後的結局。「淫逸安舒的人啊，聽著！你以為天地間唯你獨尊，你必不致寡居，也不會遭喪子之痛。

你的創傷無法救治，你的傷勢極其嚴重。聽見這消息的人必鼓掌歡呼，因為誰沒受過你無休止的暴虐呢？

你們這座充滿喧鬧、騷動和歡樂的城啊，你們中間被殺的人既非喪身刀下，也非死於戰場。

我必摧毀這城，使它令人驚懼、嗤笑，它的滿目瘡痍必令路人驚懼、嗤笑。

從前人煙稠密的城，現在何其荒涼！從前揚威萬邦的強國，現在竟像寡婦一樣。從前在諸省做公主的，現在卻淪為奴婢。

路人都拍掌嘲笑你。他們向耶路撒冷城搖頭，嗤笑道：「這就是那被譽為完美無瑕、普世喜悅的城嗎？」

在殺戮你的人面前，你還能自稱為神嗎？在殺你的人手中，你不過是人，不是神。

各國商人都嗤笑你，你那可怕的末日來臨了，你將永遠不復存在。』」

過路的人都嘲笑祂，搖著頭說：

她過去怎樣自炫自耀、奢華荒淫，現在也要讓她怎樣痛苦哀傷。因為她心裡說，『我貴為女王，不是寡婦，絕不會經歷哀傷。』所以在一天之內，她的災禍，就是死亡、哀傷和饑荒要同時臨到她身上。她要被火燒盡，因為審判她的主上帝能力偉大。「那些曾與她通姦享樂的君王目睹焚燒她的煙，必為她哭泣哀號。他們對她所受的災禍充滿恐懼，就遠遠地站著說，『強大堅固的巴比倫城啊，真悲慘！真悲慘！因為審判頃刻間臨到你了。』「地上的商人也為她哀傷，因為再也沒有人購買他們的貨物了。他們的金、銀、寶石、珍珠、細麻布、紫布、絲綢、朱紅布、各樣香木、象牙器具，貴重木材、銅、鐵、大理石製品，以及肉桂、荳蔻、香料、香膏、乳香、酒、油、細麵粉、小麥、牛、羊、馬、車、僕婢和人口都沒有人購買了。他們呼喊，『巴比倫啊！你貪愛的美物已離你而去了，一切珍饈百味、奢侈華麗的東西都消失殆盡，無影無蹤。』「靠販賣這些貨物給她而致富的商人對她所受的災禍充滿恐懼，就站在遠處為她哀傷哭號，說，『身穿紫色和朱紅色的細麻布衣服，以黃金、寶石、珍珠為裝飾的大城啊，真悲慘！真悲慘！因為頃刻間你這一切的繁華都化為烏有了。』所有船主、乘客、水手及靠海為生的人都遠遠地站著，看見燒她的煙，就說，『有哪一座城能與她相比呢？』他們又把塵土撒在頭上，哀傷哭泣，喊著說，『這大城啊，真悲慘！真悲慘！所有經營航運的都因她的奢華而發了財，可是頃刻間她卻淪為廢墟了！』

主的怒氣像烏雲一樣遮蓋錫安城，祂使以色列的榮美從天上墜下。祂發怒的時候並不顧念自己的腳凳。

主完成在錫安山和耶路撒冷要做的事後，必懲罰心裡狂妄、眼目高傲的亞述王。因為亞述王說：「我靠自己的力量和智慧成就了此事，因為我很聰明。我廢除列國的疆界，擄掠他們的財物，像勇士一樣征服他們的君王。我奪取列國的財物，好像探囊取物；我征服天下，不過是手到擒來；無人反抗，無人吭聲。」

生活安逸的婦女啊，來聽我的聲音！無憂無慮的女子啊，要側耳聽我的言語！

我必把以色列人從我賜給他們的土地上剷除，並離棄我為自己的名而使之聖潔的這殿，使以色列人在萬民中成為笑柄，被人嘲諷。這殿雖然宏偉，但將來經過的人必驚訝，譏笑說，『耶和華為什麼這樣對待這地方和這殿呢？』

你要告訴他，主耶和華這樣說，『埃及王法老啊，你這躺臥在自己河中的大怪物，我要與你為敵。你說這尼羅河屬於你，是你為自己造的。

狂風向他拍掌，呼嘯著吹走他。

他們必這樣譏笑巴比倫王：「暴君滅亡了！暴政結束了！耶和華折斷了邪惡君主的權杖。

義人看見必心生敬畏，他們必嘲笑說：「看啊，這就是不依靠上帝的人，他只倚仗自己的財富和以殘暴手段獲得的權勢。」
