Then I will surround my temple to protect it like a guard from anyone crossing back and forth; so no one will cross over against them anymore as an oppressor, for now I myself have seen it.

我將建營以環我室、抵禦敵軍、絕其往來、使暴虐者不復經行斯境、蓋我目顧之、○

敵之軍旅、往來斯土、我將扞衛我殿、恆加眷顧、毋許橫暴者經歷斯境、

我必扞衛我殿、有若四周列營、護之於敵軍往來之時、或作我必扞衛我家如在四圍列營保護不復為往來之敵軍所擾害使暴虐者不復經歷其境、因我目今眷顧之、

But I will encamp at my temple to guard it against marauding forces. Never again will an oppressor overrun my people, for now I am keeping watch.

But I will camp at my temple. I will guard it against enemy armies. No one will ever crush my people again. I will make sure it does not happen.

Then I will encamp at my house as a guard, so that none shall march to and fro; no oppressor shall again march over them, for now I see with my own eyes.

I will guard my Temple and protect it from invading armies. I am watching closely to ensure that no more foreign oppressors overrun my people’s land.

I will encamp at my house as a guard, against those who march back and forth, and no oppressor will march against them again, for now I have seen with my own eyes.

But I will camp around My house because of an army, Because of him who passes by and returns; And no oppressor will pass over them anymore, For now I have seen with My eyes.

And I will encamp about my house against the army, that none pass through or return; and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.

I will set up camp at My house against an army, against those who march back and forth, and no oppressor will march against them again, for now I have seen with My own eyes.

And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.

I will encamp around my house against the army, that no one pass through or return; and no oppressor will pass through them any more: for now I have seen with my eyes.

You will be reestablished when I vindicate you. You will not experience oppression; indeed, you will not be afraid. You will not be terrified, for nothing frightening will come near you.

Wake up! Wake up! Clothe yourself with strength, O Zion! Put on your beautiful clothes, O Jerusalem, holy city! For uncircumcised and unclean pagans will no longer invade you.

Sounds of violence will no longer be heard in your land, or the sounds of destruction and devastation within your borders. You will name your walls,‘ Deliverance,’ and your gates,‘ Praise.’

They will come and shout for joy on Mount Zion. They will be radiant with joy over the good things the LORD provides, the grain, the fresh wine, the olive oil, the young sheep and calves he has given to them. They will be like a well-watered garden and will not grow faint or weary any more.

He will defend the oppressed among the people; he will deliver the children of the poor and crush the oppressor.

I will no longer hide my face from them, when I pour out my Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the sovereign LORD.”

I will plant them on their land and they will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the LORD your God.

So Jacob went on his way and the angels of God met him.When Jacob saw them, he exclaimed,“ This is the camp of God!” So he named that place Mahanaim.

And now indeed the cry of the Israelites has come to me, and I have also seen how severely the Egyptians oppress them.

The LORD roars from Zion; from Jerusalem his voice bellows out. The heavens and the earth shake. But the LORD is a refuge for his people; he is a stronghold for the citizens of Israel.You will be convinced that I the LORD am your God, dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem will be holy– conquering armies will no longer pass through it.

Just as birds hover over a nest, so the LORD who commands armies will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver it; as he passes over he will rescue it.

Perhaps the LORD will notice my affliction and this day grant me good in place of his curse.”

The LORD’s angel camps around the LORD’s loyal followers and delivers them.

Yet do not depart quickly or leave in a panic. For the LORD goes before you; the God of Israel is your rear guard.

The LORD said,“ I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt. I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

God is our strong refuge; he is truly our helper in times of trouble.For this reason we do not fear when the earth shakes, and the mountains tumble into the depths of the sea,when its waves crash and foam, and the mountains shake before the surging sea.( Selah)The river’s channels bring joy to the city of God, the special, holy dwelling place of the sovereign One.God lives within it, it cannot be moved. God rescues it at the break of dawn.

Look at Zion, the city where we hold religious festivals! You will see Jerusalem, a peaceful settlement, a tent that stays put; its stakes will never be pulled up; none of its ropes will snap in two.Instead the LORD will rule there as our mighty king. Rivers and wide streams will flow through it; no war galley will enter; no large ships will sail through.For the LORD, our ruler, the LORD, our commander, the LORD, our king– he will deliver us.

On that day the LORD himself will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like mighty David, and the dynasty of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them.

At that time this song will be sung in the land of Judah:“ We have a strong city! The LORD’s deliverance, like walls and a rampart, makes it secure.

During Jehoiakim’s reign, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon attacked. Jehoiakim was his subject for three years, but then he rebelled against him.

Then the LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over its convocations a cloud and smoke by day and a bright flame of fire by night; indeed a canopy will accompany the LORD’s glorious presence.

Then I saw an angel descending from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the abyss and a huge chain.He seized the dragon– the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan– and tied him up for a thousand years.The angel then threw him into the abyss and locked and sealed it so that he could not deceive the nations until the one thousand years were finished.( After these things he must be released for a brief period of time.)

And people will settle there, and there will no longer be the threat of divine extermination– Jerusalem will dwell in security.

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion; it cannot be upended and will endure forever.As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, now and forevermore.

After some years have passed, they will form an alliance. Then the daughter of the king of the south will come to the king of the north to make an agreement, but she will not retain her power, nor will he continue in his strength. She, together with the one who brought her, her child, and her benefactor will all be delivered over at that time.“ There will arise in his place one from her family line who will come against their army and will enter the stronghold of the king of the north and will move against them successfully.

During Josiah’s reign Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt marched toward the Euphrates River to help the king of Assyria. King Josiah marched out to fight him, but Necho killed him at Megiddo when he saw him.

( 2: 5) I looked again, and there was a man with a measuring line in his hand.I asked,“ Where are you going?” He replied,“ To measure Jerusalem in order to determine its width and its length.”At this point the angelic messenger who spoke to me went out, and another messenger came to meet himand said to him,“ Hurry, speak to this young man as follows:‘ Jerusalem will no longer be enclosed by walls because of the multitude of people and animals there.But I( the LORD says) will be a wall of fire surrounding Jerusalem and the source of glory in her midst.’”“ You there! Flee from the northland!” says the LORD,“ for like the four winds of heaven I have scattered you,” says the LORD.“ Escape, Zion, you who live among the Babylonians!”For the LORD who rules over all says to me that for his own glory he has sent me to the nations that plundered you– for anyone who touches you touches the pupil of his eye.“ I am about to punish them in such a way,” he says,“ that they will be looted by their own slaves.” Then you will know that the LORD who rules over all has sent me.“ Sing out and be happy, Zion my daughter! For look, I have come; I will settle in your midst,” says the LORD.“ Many nations will join themselves to the LORD on the day of salvation, and they will also be my people. Indeed, I will settle in the midst of you all.” Then you will know that the LORD who rules over all has sent me to you.The LORD will take possession of Judah as his portion in the holy land and he will choose Jerusalem once again.Be silent in the LORD’s presence, all people everywhere, for he is being moved to action in his holy dwelling place.

“‘ No longer will Israel suffer from the sharp briers or painful thorns of all who surround and scorn them. Then they will know that I am the sovereign LORD.“‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: When I regather the house of Israel from the peoples where they are dispersed, I will reveal my sovereign power over them in the sight of the nations, and they will live in their land that I gave to my servant Jacob.

His sons will wage war, mustering a large army which will advance like an overflowing river and carrying the battle all the way to the enemy’s fortress.“ Then the king of the south will be enraged and will march out to fight against the king of the north, who will also muster a large army, but that army will be delivered into his hand.When the army is taken away, the king of the south will become arrogant. He will be responsible for the death of thousands and thousands of people, but he will not continue to prevail.For the king of the north will again muster an army, one larger than before. At the end of some years he will advance with a huge army and enormous supplies.“ In those times many will oppose the king of the south. Those who are violent among your own people will rise up in confirmation of the vision, but they will falter.Then the king of the north will advance and will build siege mounds and capture a well-fortified city. The forces of the south will not prevail, not even his finest contingents. They will have no strength to prevail.The one advancing against him will do as he pleases, and no one will be able to stand before him. He will prevail in the beautiful land, and its annihilation will be within his power.

“ At the time of the end the king of the south will attack him. Then the king of the north will storm against him with chariots, horsemen, and a large armada of ships. He will invade lands, passing through them like an overflowing river.Then he will enter the beautiful land. Many will fall, but these will escape: Edom, Moab, and the Ammonite leadership.He will extend his power against other lands; the land of Egypt will not escape.He will have control over the hidden stores of gold and silver, as well as all the treasures of Egypt. Libyans and Ethiopians will submit to him.But reports will trouble him from the east and north, and he will set out in a tremendous rage to destroy and wipe out many.He will pitch his royal tents between the seas toward the beautiful holy mountain. But he will come to his end, with no one to help him.

They went up on the broad plain of the earth and encircled the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and devoured them completely.

These two kings, their minds filled with evil intentions, will trade lies with one another at the same table. But it will not succeed, for there is still an end at the appointed time.Then the king of the north will return to his own land with much property. His mind will be set against the holy covenant. He will take action, and then return to his own land.At an appointed time he will again invade the south, but this latter visit will not turn out the way the former one did.

He spoke about Egypt and the army of Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt which was encamped along the Euphrates River at Carchemish. Now this was the army that King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon defeated in the fourth year that Jehoiakim son of Josiah was ruling over Judah.

I have certainly seen the suffering of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to rescue them. Now come, I will send you to Egypt.’

The LORD spoke to the prophet Jeremiah about Nebuchadnezzar coming to attack the land of Egypt.
