我以猶大為已彎之弓、以以法蓮為在弦之矢、錫安歟、我將激爾子、以攻雅完之子、使爾若勇士之劍、

我必以猶大家以法蓮族、為我弓矢、以射敵人、郇邑之民、攻擊雅番子、若武士之劍、足以殲人。

我以猶大為已張之弓、以以法蓮為所發於弓之矢、以以法蓮為所發於弓之矢或作我視以法蓮如矢囊充滿以矢者郇歟、我激爾之民、民原文作子攻雅完之民、民原文作子且使爾若武士之劍、

I will bend Judah as I bend my bow and fill it with Ephraim. I will rouse your sons, Zion, against your sons, Greece, and make you like a warrior’s sword.

Judah is my bow, and Israel is my arrow. Jerusalem is my sword, and like a warrior, I will brandish it against the Greeks.

He made my mouth like a sharp sword, he hid me in the hollow of his hand; he made me like a sharpened arrow, he hid me in his quiver.

I am enraged at the shepherds and will punish the lead-goats. For the LORD who rules over all has brought blessing to his flock, the house of Judah, and will transform them into his majestic warhorse.From him will come the cornerstone, the wall peg, the battle bow, and every ruler.And they will be like warriors trampling the mud of the streets in battle. They will fight, for the LORD will be with them, and will defeat the enemy cavalry.“ I( says the LORD) will strengthen the kingdom of Judah and deliver the people of Joseph and will bring them back because of my compassion for them. They will be as though I had never rejected them, for I am the LORD their God and therefore I will hear them.The Ephraimites will be like warriors and will rejoice as if they had drunk wine. Their children will see it and rejoice; they will celebrate in the things of the LORD.

Strap your sword to your thigh, O warrior! Appear in your majestic splendor!

They will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those accompanying the Lamb are the called, chosen, and faithful.”

I asked,“ What are these going to do?” He answered,“ These horns are the ones that have scattered Judah so that there is no one to be seen. But the blacksmiths have come to terrify Judah’s enemies and cut off the horns of the nations that have thrust themselves against the land of Judah in order to scatter its people.”

You sold Judeans and Jerusalemites to the Greeks, removing them far from their own country.Look! I am rousing them from that place to which you sold them. I will repay you for what you have done!I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah. They will sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far away. Indeed, the LORD has spoken!

Those who have been delivered will go up on Mount Zion in order to rule over Esau’s mountain. Then the LORD will reign as King!

And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. The LORD, my protector, deserves praise– the one who trains my hands for battle, and my fingers for war,

I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith!

I will pay close attention to the house of Judah, but will strike all the horses of the nations with blindness.Then the leaders of Judah will say to themselves,‘ The inhabitants of Jerusalem are a means of strength to us through their God, the LORD who rules over all.’On that day I will make the leaders of Judah like an igniter among sticks and a burning torch among sheaves, and they will burn up all the surrounding nations right and left. Then the people of Jerusalem will settle once more in their place, the city of Jerusalem.The LORD also will deliver the homes of Judah first, so that the splendor of the kingship of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not exceed that of Judah.On that day the LORD himself will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like mighty David, and the dynasty of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them.

For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom,but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers and sisters. Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position.But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something,

He will assume his post and shepherd the people by the LORD’s strength, by the sovereign authority of the LORD his God. They will live securely, for at that time he will be honored even in the distant regions of the earth.He will give us peace. Should the Assyrians try to invade our land and attempt to set foot in our fortresses, we will send against them seven shepherd-rulers, make that eight commanders.They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, the land of Nimrod with a drawn sword. Our king will rescue us from the Assyrians should they attempt to invade our land and try to set foot in our territory.Those survivors from Jacob will live in the midst of many nations. They will be like the dew the LORD sends, like the rain on the grass, that does not hope for men to come or wait around for humans to arrive.Those survivors from Jacob will live among the nations, in the midst of many peoples. They will be like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which attacks when it passes through; it rips its prey and there is no one to stop it.Lift your hand triumphantly against your adversaries; may all your enemies be destroyed!

May they praise God while they hold a two-edged sword in their hand,

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double- edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.

For though we live as human beings, we do not wage war according to human standards,for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons, but are made powerful by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down argumentsand every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.

The one true God gives me strength; he removes the obstacles in my way.He gives me the agility of a deer; he enables me to negotiate the rugged terrain.He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend even the strongest bow.You give me your protective shield; your right hand supports me; your willingness to help enables me to prevail.

“ Babylon, you are my war club, my weapon for battle. I used you to smash nations. I used you to destroy kingdoms.

He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp double- edged sword extended out of his mouth. His face shone like the sun shining at full strength.

From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the furious wrath of God, the All- Powerful.

Many nations will come, saying,“ Come on! Let’s go up to the LORD’s mountain, to the temple of Jacob’s God, so he can teach us his commands and we can live by his laws.” For Zion will be the source of instruction; the LORD’s teachings will proceed from Jerusalem.He will arbitrate between many peoples and settle disputes between many distant nations. They will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nations will not use weapons against other nations, and they will no longer train for war.

“ Look, I am making you like a sharp threshing sledge, new and double-edged. You will thresh the mountains and crush them; you will make the hills like straw.You will winnow them and the wind will blow them away; the wind will scatter them. You will rejoice in the LORD; you will boast in the Holy One of Israel.

He said to them,“ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well.”After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.They went out and proclaimed everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through the accompanying signs.]]

Then with smooth words he will defile those who have rejected the covenant. But the people who are loyal to their God will act valiantly.These who are wise among the people will teach the masses. However, they will fall by the sword and by the flame, and they will be imprisoned and plundered for some time.When they stumble, they will be granted some help. But many will unite with them deceitfully.

I made some of your sons prophets and some of your young men Nazirites. Is this not true, you Israelites?” The LORD is speaking!

The male goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is the first king.The horn that was broken and in whose place there arose four others stands for four kingdoms that will arise from his nation, though they will not have his strength.Toward the end of their rule, when rebellious acts are complete, a rash and deceitful king will arise.His power will be great, but it will not be by his strength alone. He will cause terrible destruction. He will be successful in what he undertakes. He will destroy powerful people and the people of the holy ones.By his treachery he will succeed through deceit. He will have an arrogant attitude, and he will destroy many who are unaware of his schemes. He will rise up against the Prince of princes, yet he will be broken apart– but not by human agency.

The others were killed by the sword that extended from the mouth of the one who rode the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh.

Pay attention, all you people, both rich and poor!I will declare a wise saying; I will share my profound thoughts.I will learn a song that imparts wisdom; I will then sing my insightful song to the accompaniment of a harp.Why should I be afraid in times of trouble, when the sinful deeds of deceptive men threaten to overwhelm me?They trust in their wealth and boast in their great riches.Certainly a man cannot rescue his brother; he cannot pay God an adequate ransom price( the ransom price for a human life is too high, and people go to their final destiny),so that he might continue to live forever and not experience death.
