Therefore produce fruits that are consistent with repentance, and do not start saying to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father,’ for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children for Abraham.But indeed the axe is already being laid at the root of the trees; so every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”And the crowds were questioning him, saying,“ Then what are we to do?”And he would answer and say to them,“ The one who has two tunics is to share with the one who has none; and the one who has food is to do likewise.”Now even tax collectors came to be baptized, and they said to him,“ Teacher, what are we to do?”And he said to them,“ Collect no more than what you have been ordered to.”And soldiers also were questioning him, saying,“ What are we to do, we as well?” And he said to them,“ Do not extort money from anyone, nor harass anyone, and be content with your wages.”

One who declares truth tells what is right, But a false witness, deceit.

There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.

‘ You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.

and that no one violate the rights and take advantage of his brother or sister in the matter, because the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we also told you previously and solemnly warned you.

“ They bend their tongues like their bows; Lies and not truth prevail in the land; For they proceed from evil to evil, And they do not know Me,” declares the Lord.“ Let everyone be on guard against his neighbor, And do not trust any brother; Because every brother utterly betrays, And every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.Everyone deceives his neighbor And does not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies; They weary themselves committing wrongdoing.

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;because it is written:“ You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

So I say this, and affirm in the Lord, that you are to no longer walk just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their minds,

For the rich people of the city are full of violence, Her residents speak lies, And their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

but your own eyes have seen all the great work of the Lord which He did.“ You shall therefore keep every commandment which I am commanding you today, so that you may be strong and go in and take possession of the land into which you are about to cross to possess it;

Listen to the word of the Lord, you sons of Israel, Because the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land, For there is no faithfulness, nor loyalty, Nor knowledge of God in the land.There is oath taking, denial, murder, stealing, and adultery. They employ violence, so that bloodshed follows bloodshed.

He has told you, mortal one, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?

And He will delight in the fear of the Lord, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make decisions by what His ears hear;But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the humble of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.Also righteousness will be the belt around His hips, And faithfulness the belt around His waist.And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And the calf and the young lion and the fattened steer will be together; And a little boy will lead them.Also the cow and the bear will graze, Their young will lie down together, And the lion will eat straw like the ox.The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea.

But let justice roll out like waters, And righteousness like an ever flowing stream.

“ And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?

“ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral persons, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Hate evil, love good, And establish justice in the gate! Perhaps the Lord God of armies Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.
