“ Thus says the Lord of hosts:‘ Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion Everyone to his brother.

「萬軍之耶和華如此說：『你們要施行真理的審判，各人要以恩慈和憐憫對待自己的兄弟。

萬軍之耶和華云、當以公正行鞫、以仁慈矜憫相待、

我萬有之主耶和華曰、當秉公義、矜憫為懷、相待以仁、

萬有之主曾如是諭爾列祖曰、爾決是非、當秉公義、以仁慈相待、互相矜憫、

“ This is what the Lord Almighty said:‘ Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.

Here is what the Lord who rules over all said to his people.“ Treat everyone with justice. Show mercy and tender concern to one another.

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another,

“ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Judge fairly, and show mercy and kindness to one another.

“ The LORD of Armies says this:‘ Make fair decisions. Show faithful love and compassion to one another.

“ This is what the Lord of armies has said:‘ Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother;

Thus hath Jehovah of hosts spoken, saying, Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother;

“ The Lord of Hosts says this: Make fair decisions. Show faithful love and compassion to one another.

Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

“ The LORD who rules over all said,‘ Exercise true judgment and show brotherhood and compassion to each other.

“ Thus has Yahweh of Armies spoken, saying,‘ Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother.

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

O house of David! Thus says the Lord:“ Execute judgment in the morning; And deliver him who is plundered Out of the hand of the oppressor, Lest My fury go forth like fire And burn so that no one can quench it, Because of the evil of your doings.

To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing.Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked? SelahDefend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy.Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked.

‘ Thus says the Lord GOD:“ Enough, O princes of Israel! Remove violence and plundering, execute justice and righteousness, and stop dispossessing My people,” says the Lord GOD.

“ Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?”

For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,and one of you says to them,“ Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

“ For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor,

These are the things you shall do: Speak each man the truth to his neighbor; Give judgment in your gates for truth, justice, and peace;Let none of you think evil in your heart against your neighbor; And do not love a false oath. For all these are things that I hate,’ Says the Lord.”

Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.You have plowed wickedness; You have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, Because you trusted in your own way, In the multitude of your mighty men.

But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream.

But this is what I commanded them, saying,‘ Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’

‘ You shall do no injustice in judgment, in measurement of length, weight, or volume.You shall have honest scales, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin: I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.‘ Therefore you shall observe all My statutes and all My judgments, and perform them: I am the Lord.’”

“ Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say,‘ Here I am.’“ If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday.

Should you not have obeyed the words which the Lord proclaimed through the former prophets when Jerusalem and the cities around it were inhabited and prosperous, and the South and the Lowland were inhabited?’”

“ But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

“ You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the Lord your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment.You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.You shall follow what is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

‘ You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor.

“ If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother,but you shall open your hand wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs.Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart, saying,‘ The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,’ and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing, and he cry out to the Lord against you, and it become sin among you.You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand.For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying,‘ You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’“ If your brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you and serves you six years, then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.And when you send him away free from you, you shall not let him go away empty-handed;you shall supply him liberally from your flock, from your threshing floor, and from your winepress. From what the Lord your God has blessed you with, you shall give to him.
