“ The Lord of Hosts says this: Make fair decisions. Show faithful love and compassion to one another.

「萬軍之耶和華如此說：『你們要施行真理的審判，各人要以恩慈和憐憫對待自己的兄弟。

萬軍之耶和華云、當以公正行鞫、以仁慈矜憫相待、

我萬有之主耶和華曰、當秉公義、矜憫為懷、相待以仁、

萬有之主曾如是諭爾列祖曰、爾決是非、當秉公義、以仁慈相待、互相矜憫、

“ This is what the Lord Almighty said:‘ Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.

Here is what the Lord who rules over all said to his people.“ Treat everyone with justice. Show mercy and tender concern to one another.

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another,

“ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Judge fairly, and show mercy and kindness to one another.

“ The LORD of Armies says this:‘ Make fair decisions. Show faithful love and compassion to one another.

“ This is what the Lord of armies has said:‘ Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother;

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts:‘ Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion Everyone to his brother.

Thus hath Jehovah of hosts spoken, saying, Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother;

Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

“ The LORD who rules over all said,‘ Exercise true judgment and show brotherhood and compassion to each other.

“ Thus has Yahweh of Armies spoken, saying,‘ Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother.

Mankind, He has told you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.

House of David, this is what the Lord says: Administer justice every morning, and rescue the victim of robbery from the hand of his oppressor, or My anger will flare up like fire and burn unquenchably because of their evil deeds.

Doing what is righteous and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner, giving him food and clothing.You also must love the foreigner, since you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You pay a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you have neglected the more important matters of the law— justice, mercy, and faith. These things should have been done without neglecting the others.

“ How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? SelahProvide justice for the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the power of the wicked.”

“ This is what the Lord God says: You have gone too far, princes of Israel! Put away violence and oppression and do what is just and right. Put an end to your evictions of My people.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

“ Our law doesn’t judge a man before it hears from him and knows what he’s doing, does it?”

For judgment is without mercy to the one who hasn’t shown mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can his faith save him?If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily foodand one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?In the same way faith, if it doesn’t have works, is dead by itself.

Instead, if you really change your ways and your actions, if you act justly toward one another,

These are the things you must do: Speak truth to one another; make true and sound decisions within your gates.Do not plot evil in your hearts against your neighbor, and do not love perjury, for I hate all this”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

Sow righteousness for yourselves and reap faithful love; break up your unplowed ground. It is time to seek the Lord until He comes and sends righteousness on you like the rain.You have plowed wickedness and reaped injustice; you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your own way and in your large number of soldiers,

But let justice flow like water, and righteousness, like an unfailing stream.

However, I did give them this command: Obey Me, and then I will be your God, and you will be My people. You must follow every way I command you so that it may go well with you.

“ You must not be unfair in measurements of length, weight, or volume.You are to have honest balances, honest weights, an honest dry measure, and an honest liquid measure; I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.You must keep all My statutes and all My ordinances and do them; I am Yahweh.”

Isn’t the fast I choose: To break the chains of wickedness, to untie the ropes of the yoke, to set the oppressed free, and to tear off every yoke?Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the poor and homeless into your house, to clothe the naked when you see him, and not to ignore your own flesh and blood?Then your light will appear like the dawn, and your recovery will come quickly. Your righteousness will go before you, and the Lord’s glory will be your rear guard.At that time, when you call, the Lord will answer; when you cry out, He will say,‘ Here I am.’ If you get rid of the yoke among you, the finger-pointing and malicious speaking,and if you offer yourself to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted one, then your light will shine in the darkness, and your night will be like noonday.

Aren’t these the words that the Lord proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem was inhabited and secure, along with its surrounding cities, and when the southern region and the Judean foothills were inhabited?”

“ But woe to you Pharisees! You give a tenth of mint, rue, and every kind of herb, and you bypass justice and love for God. These things you should have done without neglecting the others.

“ Appoint judges and officials for your tribes in all your towns the Lord your God is giving you. They are to judge the people with righteous judgment.Do not deny justice or show partiality to anyone. Do not accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.Pursue justice and justice alone, so that you will live and possess the land the Lord your God is giving you.

“ You must not act unjustly when deciding a case. Do not be partial to the poor or give preference to the rich; judge your neighbor fairly.

“ If there is a poor person among you, one of your brothers within any of your gates in the land the Lord your God is giving you, you must not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother.Instead, you are to open your hand to him and freely loan him enough for whatever need he has.Be careful that there isn’t this wicked thought in your heart,‘ The seventh year, the year of canceling debts, is near,’ and you are stingy toward your poor brother and give him nothing. He will cry out to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty.Give to him, and don’t have a stingy heart when you give, and because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you do.For there will never cease to be poor people in the land; that is why I am commanding you,‘ You must willingly open your hand to your afflicted and poor brother in your land.’“ If your fellow Hebrew, a man or woman, is sold to you and serves you six years, you must set him free in the seventh year.When you set him free, do not send him away empty-handed.Give generously to him from your flock, your threshing floor, and your winepress. You are to give him whatever the Lord your God has blessed you with.
