‘ I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations, where they were strangers. The land they left behind them was so desolate that no one traveled through it. This is how they made the pleasant land desolate.’”

爾之土產、爾劬勞所得者、將為爾所未識之民吞食殆盡、爾將受暴虐窘迫、恆久不已、

主將散爾於萬國中、自地之此極、至地之彼極、在彼必事異邦之神、木石所作、即爾與爾祖所未識者、

主必散爾在列邦、在主使爾至之列國、所餘者無幾、

惟主震怒、狂風驟起、旋風大作、臨於惡人之首、

主曰、噫、噫、我分散爾眾、如如或作於天之四風、今當自北方而逃、而逃或作逃歸此乃主所言、

主曰、我翦滅列邦、使其堞樓傾圮、使其街衢荒蕪、無人來往、其城邑盡毀、無人在、無人在或作以致無人無居民、

先知曰、主必為民顯現、主發之矢、猶如電閃、主天主必吹角、乘南方之烈風而至、

論海濱之曠野有預言曰、敵軍自曠野、自可懼之地而來、勢如南方之狂風、飄颺而至、

主曰、以色列族歟、我使一族、來自遠方攻爾、為強族、乃古族、爾不識其言、不明其所語、

至諠譁爭戰之日、勢若暴風颶風之時、我必燃火在拉巴、燬其宮殿、

惟主震怒、狂風驟起、暴風大作、臨於惡人之首、

當是時必告斯民及耶路撒冷人曰、炎熇之風、自曠野童山向我民而吹、非為簸揚、非為潔禾、我使此風為我而至、較簸揚潔禾之風尤大、今我將審判之、

尼布甲尼撒二十三年、侍衛長尼布撒拉旦擄猶大民七百四十五人、通計四千六百人、○

諸侯伯告巴錄曰、爾與耶利米且往自匿、勿使人知爾曹於何處、

主必使遠民、如鷹之飛、來自地極攻擊爾、斯民之言、爾所不識、

主猶含忍不遽怒、具有大能、不以惡人為無罪、主乘烈風迅風而來、以雲為足下之塵、

敵至若狂風、欲使我四散、暗噬貧民、乃其所喜、惟主以戈矛、刺其將帥之首、或作主以戈矛刺敵將帥之首彼至如狂風欲使我四散彼之所喜乃暗中殘害貧民

於是土地荒蕪休息、若享安息年、歷七十年、應耶利米所傳主之言、

我必散爾於異邦人中、使爾為兵刃所追、使爾土地荒蕪、使爾城邑變為荒墟、

故我之盛忿烈怒、震發如焚、傾洩於猶大諸邑、及耶路撒冷街衢、使之傾圮荒蕪、有如今日之景象、

求主依主之仁慈、向主之邑耶路撒冷、及主之聖山、止忿息怒、今耶路撒冷及主之民、為四周鄰國凌辱、皆因我儕之罪惡、及我列祖之愆尤、求我天主俯聽僕之祈禱懇求、主之聖所荒蕪、荒蕪或作傾圮求主為主之名、垂顧照臨、求我天主側耳垂聽、我之土地及歸主名之邑、今已荒蕪、求主啟目鑒察、我祈禱主前、非自有義可恃、乃恃主之大憐憫、

其中一角、生一小角、遂成強大、在南方東方以及美地、大逞強暴、

爾曹以荊棘為炊、鍋猶未熱、其中物尚生、驟被狂風吹去、

列邦諠譁、雖如大水澎湃、惟主叱喝、則皆遠遁、必如在山之秕糠、風揚而去、亦如草芥、草芥或作塵土隨風旋轉、

萬有之主如是云、災害出自此國、延及彼國、自地至遠之處、大狂風驟起、當是時主所殺戮者屍骸遍有、自地此極、至地彼極、人不為舉哀、不收殮、不葬埋、視若糞壤在田、

我必使野獸入爾境、吞爾子女、噬爾牲畜、使爾人數寡少、致道路荒涼、

因主降臨於火、主之輦迅如颶風、震怒有如烈火、譴責仇敵、以烈焰焚燬、
