「與你們素不相識的民族必吃光你們土地的出產和勞碌所得，你們必常受欺壓，

「耶和華說，『我曾把你們分散到天下四方，現在，快！快逃離北方之地。這是耶和華說的。

「我已消滅列國，摧毀他們的城樓，使他們的街道荒廢，沒有路人；他們的城邑淪為廢墟，杳無人跡，沒有居民。

耶和華必在他們上面顯現，祂的箭如閃電射出。主耶和華必吹響號角，乘南方的暴風而來。

以下是關於海邊沙漠的預言：敵人從可怕的沙漠之地上來，好像狂風掃過南部的曠野。

以色列人啊，我要使一個國家，一個歷久不衰的古國從遠方來攻擊你們，你們不明白他們的語言，也聽不懂他們說的話。這是耶和華說的。

所以，我要在戰爭的吶喊聲中，在暴風雨吹襲的時候，降火在拉巴的城牆上，燒毀它的城堡。

看啊，耶和華的怒氣必如風暴一樣橫掃過來，颳到惡人頭上。

那時，耶和華必對這群百姓和耶路撒冷人說：「一陣熱風從荒野光禿的山頭吹向我的子民，不是為揚場、吹淨糠秕。那是我發出的一陣強風。現在我要宣告我對他們的審判。」

執政第二十三年，他的護衛長尼布撒拉旦擄去七百四十五名猶大人。總共四千六百人。

他們說：「你和耶利米都要藏起來，不可讓人知道你們在哪裡。」

「耶和華要使一國從遙遠的地極興起，他們要如鷹飛來襲擊你們。你們不懂他們的語言。

耶和華不輕易發怒，有偉大的能力。耶和華斷不以有罪的為無罪。祂行走在旋風和暴風中，雲彩是祂腳下的塵土。

他們的軍隊如旋風而至，要驅散我們，他們以暗中吞噬貧民為樂，但你用他們的矛刺透他們的頭顱。

這就應驗了耶和華藉耶利米之口所說的話：這片土地享受了安息，它在荒涼中守安息，直到滿了七十年。

我要把你們驅散到各國，還要拔刀追殺你們。你們的土地將荒廢，城邑將淪為廢墟。

因此，我的怒火在猶大的城邑和耶路撒冷的街上燃燒，使它們淪為廢墟，正如今日一樣。』

主啊，你一向公義，求你不要向你的耶路撒冷城——你的聖山發烈怒。由於我們的罪惡和我們祖先的過犯，耶路撒冷和你的子民成了四圍鄰人嘲諷的對象。我們的上帝啊，求你垂聽僕人的禱告祈求，為你自己的緣故，笑顏垂顧你荒涼的聖所。我的上帝啊，求你側耳垂聽，睜眼眷顧我們荒涼的土地和屬於你名下的城。我們向你祈求，並非因為我們有什麼義行，乃是因為你充滿憐憫。

其中一個角又長出一個小角，向南方、東方和佳美之地擴張勢力。

刹那間，荊棘還沒有把鍋燒熱的工夫，上帝必除滅他們。

雖然萬民喧囂如洶湧的洪水，但上帝一聲斥責，他們便逃往遠方，像山頂上被風捲走的糠秕，又如狂風颳走的塵埃。

萬軍之耶和華說：「看啊，災難正蔓延到列國，有暴風從地極捲起。」到那日，遍地都是被耶和華殺戮的人，無人哀悼、收殮和埋葬，他們好像地上的糞便。

我要讓野獸殘害你們的子女，吞噬你們的牲畜，使你們人口銳減，路上杳無人跡。

看啊，耶和華要在火中降臨，祂的戰車好像旋風。祂要發烈怒，用火焰懲罰。
