Why have these people turned away? Why is Jerusalem always turning away? They take hold of deceit; they refuse to return.

Do not be like your ancestors; the earlier prophets proclaimed to them: This is what the LORD of Armies says: Turn from your evil ways and your evil deeds. But they did not listen or pay attention to me— this is the LORD’s declaration.

Still, the LORD warned Israel and Judah through every prophet and every seer, saying,“ Turn from your evil ways and keep my commands and statutes according to the whole law I commanded your ancestors and sent to you through my servants the prophets.”But they would not listen. Instead they became obstinate like their ancestors who did not believe the LORD their God.They rejected his statutes and his covenant he had made with their ancestors and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves, following the surrounding nations the LORD had commanded them not to imitate.

The LORD spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they didn’t listen.

Since I called out and you refused, extended my hand and no one paid attention,since you neglected all my counsel and did not accept my correction,I, in turn, will laugh at your calamity. I will mock when terror strikes you,when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when trouble and stress overcome you.Then they will call me, but I won’t answer; they will search for me, but won’t find me.Because they hated knowledge, didn’t choose to fear the LORD,were not interested in my counsel, and rejected all my correction,they will eat the fruit of their way and be glutted with their own schemes.For the apostasy of the inexperienced will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.

They refused to listen and did not remember your wonders you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love, and you did not abandon them.

See to it that you do not reject the one who speaks. For if they did not escape when they rejected him who warned them on earth, even less will we if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven.

They have venom like the venom of a snake, like the deaf cobra that stops up its ears,that does not listen to the sound of the charmers who skillfully weave spells.

But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and are saved.

She has not obeyed; she has not accepted discipline. She has not trusted in the LORD; she has not drawn near to her God.

“ As for the word you spoke to us in the name of the LORD, we are not going to listen to you!

“ You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit. As your ancestors did, you do also.

Make the minds of these people dull; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.

They wouldn’t listen or pay attention but became obstinate, not listening or accepting discipline.

we have sinned, done wrong, acted wickedly, rebelled, and turned away from your commands and ordinances.

This is what the LORD says: Stand by the roadways and look. Ask about the ancient paths,“ Which is the way to what is good?” Then take it and find rest for yourselves. But they protested,“ We won’t!”I appointed watchmen over you and said,“ Listen for the sound of the ram’s horn.” But they protested,“ We won’t listen!”
