Then again I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a flying scroll.

I looked again, and there before me was a flying scroll.

I looked up again and saw a flying scroll.

Again I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, a flying scroll!

Then I raised my eyes again and looked, and behold, there was a flying scroll.

Then I turned and raised my eyes, and saw there a flying scroll.

Then again I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, a flying roll.

Then I turned to look, and there was a flying scroll!

He said to me,“ What do you see?” I answered,“ I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits.”

Yahweh said to me,“ Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man’s pen,‘ For Maher Shalal Hash Baz’;

The voice which I heard from heaven, again speaking with me, said,“ Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.”I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. He said to me,“ Take it, and eat it. It will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.”I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth. When I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.They told me,“ You must prophesy again over many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”

I saw, in the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written inside and outside, sealed shut with seven seals.I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice,“ Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?”No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book or to look in it.Then I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look in it.One of the elders said to me,“ Don’t weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome: he who opens the book and its seven seals.”I saw in the middle of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.Then he came, and he took it out of the right hand of him who sat on the throne.Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty- four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.They sang a new song, saying,“ You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,and made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign on the earth.”I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders. The number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;saying with a loud voice,“ Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!”I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying,“ To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!”The four living creatures said,“ Amen!” Then the elders fell down and worshiped.

When I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me; and, behold, a scroll of a book was in it.He spread it before me. It was written within and without; and lamentations, mourning, and woe were written in it.

In the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,“ Take a scroll of a book, and write in it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I intend to do to them; that they may each return from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.”Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all Yahweh’s words, which he had spoken to him, on a scroll of a book.Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying,“ I am restricted. I can’t go into Yahweh’s house.Therefore you go, and read from the scroll which you have written from my mouth, Yahweh’s words, in the ears of the people in Yahweh’s house on the fast day. Also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.

They went in to the king into the court; but they had laid up the scroll in the room of Elishama the scribe. Then they told all the words in the hearing of the king.So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll; and he took it out of the room of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king, and in the hearing of all the princes who stood beside the king.Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month; and there was a fire in the brazier burning before him.When Jehudi had read three or four leaves, the king cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.The king and his servants who heard all these words were not afraid, and didn’t tear their garments.

He had in his hand a little open book. He set his right foot on the sea, and his left on the land.

Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, after the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,“ Take again another scroll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.Concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say,‘ Yahweh says:“ You have burned this scroll, saying,“ Why have you written therein, saying,‘ The king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and will cause to cease from there man and animal?’”’Therefore Yahweh says concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah:“ He will have no one to sit on David’s throne. His dead body will be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.I will punish him, his offspring, and his servants for their iniquity. I will bring on them, on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they didn’t listen.”’”Then took Jeremiah another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many similar words were added to them.
