於是，這位設巴薩就在耶路撒冷為上帝的殿立了根基，從那時到如今，殿一直在重建中，還沒有竣工。』

告訴他，萬軍之耶和華說，『看啊，那被稱為大衛苗裔的要從自己的地方興起，建造耶和華的殿。祂必建造耶和華的殿，帶著王者的尊榮坐在寶座上掌權，寶座上也必坐著祭司，兩者和諧共存。』

在回到耶路撒冷上帝殿的第二年二月，撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯、約薩達的兒子耶書亞及其祭司和利未親族，以及所有從流亡之地回到耶路撒冷的人，開始重建耶和華的殿，並派二十歲以上的利未人做督工。何達威雅的後裔，即耶書亞及其子孫和弟兄、甲篾及其子孫，與利未人希拿達的子孫及其弟兄同心協力地監督在上帝殿裡做工的人。工人立耶和華殿的根基時，祭司身穿禮服拿著號角，利未人亞薩的子孫拿著鈸各就各位，照以色列王大衛所定的規矩讚美耶和華。他們彼此唱和，讚美、稱謝耶和華，說：「祂是美善的，因為祂向以色列人永施慈愛！」所有人都高聲歡呼讚美耶和華，因為耶和華殿的根基已經立好。許多曾見過舊殿的年長的祭司、利未人和族長看見這殿的根基，不禁放聲大哭，也有很多人高聲歡呼。人們無法分辨是痛哭聲還是歡呼聲，因為眾人都大聲呼喊，聲音傳到遠處。

使他們都合而為一，正如父你在我裡面，我在你裡面一樣，並且使他們也在我們裡面，好讓世人相信是你差我來的。

但是我有比約翰更大的見證，因為父交待我去完成的工作，就是我現在所做的工作，證明我是父差來的。差我來的父曾親自為我做過見證。你們從未聽過祂的聲音，從未見過祂，

上帝差祂的兒子到世上來，不是要定世人的罪，而是要藉著祂的兒子拯救世人。

萬軍之耶和華說，祂在彰顯榮耀之後要差遣我去那些擄掠你們的國家，因為誰侵害你們，就是侵害祂的瞳人。看啊，祂要揮手攻擊他們，使他們被自己的奴隸擄掠。那時你們便知道是萬軍之耶和華差遣了我。

到那天，許多國家都要歸向耶和華，做祂的子民。祂要住在你裡面。那時，你便知道是萬軍之耶和華差遣我到你們這裡來的。

就算我判斷人，我的判斷也是正確的，因為我不是獨自一人，還有差我來的父與我同在。你們的律法不是說兩個人做見證就有效嗎？我是自己為自己做見證，差我來的父也為我做見證。」

定睛仰望為我們的信心創始成終的耶穌。祂為了擺在前面的喜樂，就輕看羞辱，忍受了十字架的痛苦，如今已坐在上帝寶座的右邊。

你們到我跟前來聽吧。我一開始就沒有暗地裡說話，事情發生的時候，我就在場。」現在主耶和華差遣我和祂的靈來。

我告訴你，你是彼得，我要在這磐石上建立我的教會，陰間的勢力不能勝過它。

遠方的人也要來建造耶和華的殿。那時你們便知道是萬軍之耶和華差遣我到你們這裡來的。你們若全心遵從你們上帝耶和華的話，這事就必成就。
