The Lord says,“ Come away! Flee from Babylon in the land of the north, for I have scattered you to the four winds.

“ Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord,“ for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven,” declares the Lord.

“ Israel, I have scattered you,” announces the Lord.“ I have used the power of the four winds of heaven to do it. Come quickly! Run away from the land of the north,” announces the Lord.

Up! Up! Flee from the land of the north, declares the Lord. For I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, declares the Lord.

“ Listen! Listen! Flee from the land of the north”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ for I have scattered you like the four winds of heaven”— this is the LORD’s declaration.

“ You there! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord,“ because I have spread you out like the four winds of the heavens,” declares the Lord.

“ Up, up! Flee from the land of the north,” says the Lord;“ for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of heaven,” says the Lord.

Ho, ho, flee from the land of the north, saith Jehovah; for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, saith Jehovah.

“ Get up! Leave the land of the north”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ for I have scattered you like the four winds of heaven”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

Ho, ho,[ come forth], and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.

“ You there! Flee from the northland!” says the LORD,“ for like the four winds of heaven I have scattered you,” says the LORD.

Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,’ says Yahweh;‘ for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the sky,’ says Yahweh.

And all his best warriors will be killed in battle, and those who survive will be scattered to the four winds. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken.

“ Therefore, tell the exiles,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Although I have scattered you in the countries of the world, I will be a sanctuary to you during your time in exile.

Yet even now, be free from your captivity! Leave Babylon and the Babylonians. Sing out this message! Shout it to the ends of the earth! The Lord has redeemed his servants, the people of Israel.

“ Listen to this message from the Lord, you nations of the world; proclaim it in distant coastlands: The Lord, who scattered his people, will gather them and watch over them as a shepherd does his flock.

Then I heard another voice calling from heaven,“ Come away from her, my people. Do not take part in her sins, or you will be punished with her.

Come away, people of Zion, you who are exiled in Babylon!”

Get out! Get out and leave your captivity, where everything you touch is unclean. Get out of there and purify yourselves, you who carry home the sacred objects of the Lord.You will not leave in a hurry, running for your lives. For the Lord will go ahead of you; yes, the God of Israel will protect you from behind.

For the Lord will scatter you among all the nations from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship foreign gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, gods made of wood and stone!

When they were safely out of the city, one of the angels ordered,“ Run for your lives! And don’t look back or stop anywhere in the valley! Escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”

In those days the people of Judah and Israel will return together from exile in the north. They will return to the land I gave your ancestors as an inheritance forever.

And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:“ I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.

“ For I will give the command and will shake Israel along with the other nations as grain is shaken in a sieve, yet not one true kernel will be lost.

Get out, all you who have escaped the sword! Do not stand and watch— flee while you can! Remember the Lord, though you are in a far off land, and think about your home in Jerusalem.”

I will scatter his servants and warriors to the four winds and send the sword after them.And when I scatter them among the nations, they will know that I am the Lord.

Flee from Babylon! Save yourselves! Don’t get trapped in her punishment! It is the Lord’s time for vengeance; he will repay her in full.

For I will bring them from the north and from the distant corners of the earth. I will not forget the blind and lame, the expectant mothers and women in labor. A great company will return!

“ Yes,” the Lord said,“ for terror from the north will boil out on the people of this land.

A third of your people will die in the city from disease and famine. A third of them will be slaughtered by the enemy outside the city walls. And I will scatter a third to the winds, chasing them with my sword.

“ Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free!

Because of the wicked things Manasseh son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, did in Jerusalem, I will make my people an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

“ Come out, my people, flee from Babylon. Save yourselves! Run from the Lord’s fierce anger.

“ But now, flee from Babylon! Leave the land of the Babylonians. Like male goats at the head of the flock, lead my people home again.

Boaz went to the town gate and took a seat there. Just then the family redeemer he had mentioned came by, so Boaz called out to him,“ Come over here and sit down, friend. I want to talk to you.” So they sat down together.
