“你们看见耶路撒冷被兵围困，就可知道它成荒场的日子近了。那时，在犹太的应当逃到山上；在城里的应当出来；在乡下的不要进城；因为这是报应的日子，使经上所写的都得应验。当那些日子，怀孕的和奶孩子的有祸了！因为将有大灾难降在这地方，也有震怒临到这百姓。他们要倒在刀下，又被掳到各国去。耶路撒冷要被外邦人践踏，直到外邦人的日期满了。”

他们的婴孩必在他们眼前摔碎；他们的房屋必被抢夺；他们的妻子必被玷污。

当那些日子，怀孕的和奶孩子的有祸了。你们应当祈求，叫你们逃走的时候，不遇见冬天或是安息日。因为那时必有大灾难，从世界的起头直到如今，没有这样的灾难，后来也必没有。若不减少那日子，凡有血气的总没有一个得救的；只是为选民，那日子必减少了。

“你们看见那行毁坏可憎的，站在不当站的地方（读这经的人须要会意）。那时，在犹太的，应当逃到山上；

因为日子将到，你的仇敌必筑起土垒，周围环绕你，四面困住你，并要扫灭你和你里头的儿女，连一块石头也不留在石头上，因你不知道眷顾你的时候。”

你若谨守耶和华你神的诫命，遵行他的道，他必照着向你所起的誓立你作为自己的圣民。天下万民见你归在耶和华的名下，就要惧怕你。你在耶和华向你列祖起誓应许赐你的地上，他必使你身所生的，牲畜所下的，地所产的，都绰绰有余。耶和华必为你开天上的府库，按时降雨在你的地上。在你手里所办的一切事上赐福与你。你必借给许多国民，却不致向他们借贷。你若听从耶和华你神的诫命，就是我今日所吩咐你的，谨守遵行，不偏左右，也不随从侍奉别神，耶和华就必使你作首不作尾，但居上不居下。”

“你们看见先知但以理所说的‘那行毁坏可憎的’站在圣地（读这经的人须要会意）。那时，在犹太的，应当逃到山上；

我要聚集万民，带他们下到约沙法谷，在那里施行审判；因为他们将我的百姓，就是我的产业以色列，分散在列国中，又分取我的地土，

王就大怒，发兵除灭那些凶手，烧毁他们的城。

看哪，这都写在我面前。我必不静默，必施行报应，必将你们的罪孽和你们列祖的罪孽，就是在山上烧香，在冈上亵渎我的罪孽，一同报应在他们后人怀中，我先要把他们所行的量给他们；这是耶和华说的。”

第四国，必坚壮如铁，铁能打碎克制百物，又能压碎一切，那国也必打碎压制列国。你既见像的脚和脚指头，一半是窑匠的泥，一半是铁，那国将来也必分开。你既见铁与泥搀杂，那国也必有铁的力量。那脚指头，既是半铁半泥，那国也必半强半弱。你既见铁与泥搀杂，那国民也必与各种人搀杂，却不能彼此相合，正如铁与泥不能相合一样。

所以耶和华如此说：‘你的妻子必在城中作妓女；你的儿女必倒在刀下。你的地必有人用绳子量了分取；你自己必死在污秽之地。以色列民定被掳去离开本地。’”

敌人在锡安玷污妇人，在犹大的城邑玷污处女。他们吊起首领的手，也不尊敬老人的面。

他必竖立大旗，招远方的国民，发嘶声叫他们从地极而来；看哪，他们必急速奔来。

“耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊，你常杀害先知，又用石头打死那奉差遣到你这里来的人。我多次愿意聚集你的儿女，好像母鸡把小鸡聚集在翅膀底下，只是你们不愿意。看哪，你们的家成为荒场留给你们。

敌人伸手，夺取她的美物；她眼见外邦人进入她的圣所。论这外邦人，你曾吩咐不可入你的会中。

但那在上的耶路撒冷是自主的，她是我们的母。因为经上记着：“不怀孕、不生养的，你要欢乐；未曾经过产难的，你要高声欢呼；因为没有丈夫的，比有丈夫的儿女更多。”

耶和华说：“这全地的人，三分之二必剪除而死，三分之一仍必存留。我要使这三分之一经火，熬炼他们，如熬炼银子；试炼他们，如试炼金子。他们必求告我的名，我必应允他们。我要说：‘这是我的子民。’他们也要说：‘耶和华是我们的神。’”

你们当因我所造的永远欢喜快乐；因我造耶路撒冷为人所喜，造其中的居民为人所乐。

巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领他的全军和地上属他的各国各邦，攻打耶路撒冷和属耶路撒冷所有的城邑。那时，耶和华的话临到耶利米说：

当那些日子，凯撒奥古斯都有旨意下来，叫天下人民都报名上册。

因为在那些日子必有灾难，自从神创造万物直到如今，并没有这样的灾难，后来也必没有。
