While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them.Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.

I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle.On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.

On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness.

“ On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them.This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord.In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground.I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother.I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’

“ As in the days when you came out of Egypt, I will show them my wonders.”Nations will see and be ashamed, deprived of all their power. They will put their hands over their mouths and their ears will become deaf.They will lick dust like a snake, like creatures that crawl on the ground. They will come trembling out of their dens; they will turn in fear to the Lord our God and will be afraid of you.

For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined.

I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far away.” The Lord has spoken.Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for war! Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack.Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say,“ I am strong!”Come quickly, all you nations from every side, and assemble there. Bring down your warriors, Lord!“ Let the nations be roused; let them advance into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations on every side.Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, trample the grapes, for the winepress is full and the vats overflow— so great is their wickedness!”Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.The sun and moon will be darkened, and the stars no longer shine.The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the heavens will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.

On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.

Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army.But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

For this is what the Lord Almighty says:“ After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you— for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye—I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me.

Jacob will be a fire and Joseph a flame; Esau will be stubble, and they will set him on fire and destroy him. There will be no survivors from Esau.” The Lord has spoken.

On that day the Lord will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the Lord going before them.On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem.

On that day people will be stricken by the Lord with great panic. They will seize each other by the hand and attack one another.

“ The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast.They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast.They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings— and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

They are demonic spirits that perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.

I will take vengeance in anger and wrath on the nations that have not obeyed me.”
