And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were a hundred thirty and seven years.The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were a hundred thirty and three years.And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites according to their families.These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom Jehovah said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts.

And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their family multiply like to the children of Judah.

Now these are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that Jehovah spake with Moses in mount Sinai.And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the first- born, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office.And Nadab and Abihu died before Jehovah, when they offered strange fire before Jehovah, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children; and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the presence of Aaron their father.

And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out thence a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera; he came out, and cursed still as he came.
