“ Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” says Yahweh.

Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

The Lord Yahweh says,“ Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

Who is blind, but my servant? Or who is as deaf as my messenger whom I send? Who is as blind as he who is at peace, and as blind as Yahweh’s servant?You see many things, but don’t observe. His ears are open, but he doesn’t listen.

“ A sword is on the Chaldeans,” says Yahweh,“ and on the inhabitants of Babylon, on her princes, and on her wise men.A sword is on the boasters, and they will become fools. A sword is on her mighty men, and they will be dismayed.A sword is on their horses, on their chariots, and on all the mixed people who are in the middle of her; and they will become as women. A sword is on her treasures, and they will be robbed.

What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons.

It will happen in that day,” says the Lord Yahweh,“ that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will make you wear sackcloth on all your bodies, and baldness on every head. I will make it like the mourning for an only son, and its end like a bitter day.

“ Woe to you, you blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated.’

He said,“ Go, and tell this people,‘ You hear indeed, but don’t understand. You see indeed, but don’t perceive.’Make the heart of this people fat. Make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.”

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and tell them, even the shepherds,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep?

Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams,” says Yahweh,“ who tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting; yet I didn’t send them or command them. They don’t profit this people at all,” says Yahweh.

“ Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Behold, it has not been bound up, to apply medicines, to put a bandage to bind it, that it become strong to hold the sword.Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:‘ Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong arm, and that which was broken. I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before the king of Babylon with the groaning of a mortally wounded man.

“ Therefore night is over you, with no vision, and it is dark to you, that you may not divine; and the sun will go down on the prophets, and the day will be black over them.The seers shall be disappointed, and the diviners confounded. Yes, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer from God.”

The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.

When the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam put out his hand from the altar, saying,“ Seize him!” His hand, which he put out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to himself.

What then? That which Israel seeks for, that he didn’t obtain, but the chosen ones obtained it, and the rest were hardened.

“ He has blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, that those who don’t see may see; and that those who see may become blind.”

You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother.My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God’s law, I will also forget your children.As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me. I will change their glory into shame.

For Yahweh has poured out on you a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, the prophets; and he has covered your heads, the seers.

Yahweh said,“ Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak this word, there:

But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and God’s love. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.”One of the lawyers answered him,“ Teacher, in saying this you insult us also.”He said,“ Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.So you testify and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.Therefore also the wisdom of God said,‘ I will send to them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will kill and persecute,that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.’ Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.Woe to you lawyers! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.”

Who has fashioned a god, or molds an image that is profitable for nothing?

He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them.The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand, and doesn’t care for the sheep.

Behold, the days come that I will cut off your arm and the arm of your father’s house, that there will not be an old man in your house.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
