關於吃祭過偶像的食物，我們知道「世界上的偶像是虛無的」，也知道「除了神一位之外，沒有別的神。」

除了我僕人以外，有誰是瞎眼的？有誰像我所派遣的使者那樣是耳聾的？有誰像我所揀選的人那樣是瞎眼的，有誰像耶和華的僕人那樣是瞎眼的？你們看見許多事，卻沒有留意；耳朵開著，卻沒有聽見。」

那麼，我怎麼說呢？難道說祭過偶像的食物算得了什麼嗎？或說，偶像算得了什麼嗎？不，我是說，外邦人所獻的祭是獻給鬼魔的，不是獻給神的；而我不願意你們成為與鬼魔有份的人。

「你們這些瞎眼的領路人有禍了！你們說：『如果有人指著聖所起誓，算不得什麼；但如果有人指著聖所裡的金子起誓，就必須遵守。』

他說：「你去告訴這百姓說：『你們聽了又聽，卻不領悟；看了又看，卻不明白。』讓這子民的心麻木，耳朵發沉，眼睛蒙蔽，免得他們眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡領悟，回轉過來，就得痊癒。」

長老和尊貴人就是頭，指教虛謊之事的先知就是尾。

所以怎麼樣呢？以色列人並沒有獲得他們所尋求的，蒙揀選的人卻獲得了，而其餘的人都成了剛硬的，

「神使他們瞎了眼，硬了心，免得他們眼睛看見，心裡明白，回轉過來，我就使他們痊癒。」

耶穌說：「我到這世上來是為了行審判，使看不見的能看見，使看得見的反而瞎了眼。」

而是因為耶和華用沉睡的靈澆灌你們；他封閉了你們的眼睛，就是眾先知；他蒙住了你們的頭，就是眾先見。

「你們法利賽人有禍了！因為你們奉獻薄荷、芸香和各種蔬菜的十分之一，卻廢棄了公義和屬神的愛。這些事是你們應該做的，至於前者也不可忽略。「你們法利賽人有禍了！因為你們喜愛會堂裡的首位，喜愛街市上的致敬問候。「你們有禍了！因為你們好像沒有標誌的墳墓，人走在上面也不知道。」有一個律法師對耶穌說：「老師，你說這些話，把我們也侮辱了。」耶穌說：「你們這些律法師也有禍了！因為你們使人背負難挑的重擔，但自己卻連一根指頭也不肯碰它們一下。「你們有禍了！因為你們建造先知的墳墓，而你們的祖先是殺害他們的。因此對你們祖先的行為，你們是見證人，你們也贊同，因為他們殺害了先知們，你們就建造先知的墳墓。為此，神的智慧也曾說：『我將要差派先知和使徒到他們那裡去。有些他們要殺害，有些他們要逼迫。』這是為要向這世代追討那從創世以來所流的眾先知的血，就是從亞伯的血起，直到在祭壇和聖所之間被殺的撒迦利亞的血為止。「是的，我告訴你們：這世代將要為此被追討。「你們這些律法師有禍了！因為你們拿去了知識的鑰匙，你們自己不進去，還阻止正要進去的人。」

誰塑造了神像、鑄造了毫無益處的偶像呢？

那雇來的不是牧人，羊也不是自己的，他看見狼來了，撇下羊就逃。這樣，狼就搶奪羊，把牠們驅散了。這是因為那人是雇來的，並不顧念羊的事。

「看哪，日子將到，我必砍下你的膀臂和你父家的膀臂，使你家中沒有一個老年人。

「經文士和法利賽人哪，你們這些偽善的人有禍了！因為你們在人的面前封閉了天國。你們自己不進去，也不讓正要進的人進去。
