Indeed, I am about to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not take heed to the sheep headed to slaughter, will not seek the scattered, and will not heal the injured. Moreover, he will not nourish the one that is healthy but instead will eat the meat of the fat sheep and tear off their hooves.

因為你看，我在這地興起一個牧民者：被抹毁的、他不看顧，流蕩的、他不尋找，受折傷的、他不醫治，能自立的、他不供養，而肥壯者的肉、他反而喫掉，甚至牠們的蹄子、他也撕裂！

看哪，我必使一個牧人在這地興起！那將被除滅的，他不眷顧；那分散的，他不尋找；那受傷的，他不治癒；那精疲力竭的，他不扶養；他卻要吞吃肥羊的肉，撕裂牠們的蹄。

我將興一牧於斯土、彼不顧喪亡者、不尋離散者、不醫被傷者、不飼茁壯者、惟食肥者之肉、而斷其蹄、

我必使牧者興於斯土、將亡者彼不顧、迷途者彼不尋、被傷者彼不醫、茁壯者彼不牧、惟食肥羊、而斷其蹄、

我必使一牧者興於斯地、將亡者彼不顧、迷途者彼不尋、被傷者彼不醫、強壯者彼不牧、肥美者彼食其肉、且斷其蹏、

For I am going to raise up a shepherd over the land who will not care for the lost, or seek the young, or heal the injured, or feed the healthy, but will eat the meat of the choice sheep, tearing off their hooves.

I am going to raise up a shepherd over the land. He will not take care of those that are wounded. He will not look for the young ones. He will not heal those that are hurt. He will not feed the healthy ones. Instead, he will eat the best sheep. He will even tear their hooves off.

For behold, I am raising up in the land a shepherd who does not care for those being destroyed, or seek the young or heal the maimed or nourish the healthy, but devours the flesh of the fat ones, tearing off even their hoofs.

This illustrates how I will give this nation a shepherd who will not care for those who are dying, nor look after the young, nor heal the injured, nor feed the healthy. Instead, this shepherd will eat the meat of the fattest sheep and tear off their hooves.

I am about to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are perishing, and he will not seek the lost or heal the broken. He will not sustain the healthy, but he will devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hooves.

For behold, I am going to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for the perishing, seek the scattered, heal the broken, or provide for the one who is exhausted, but will devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hoofs.

For indeed I will raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are cut off, nor seek the young, nor heal those that are broken, nor feed those that still stand. But he will eat the flesh of the fat and tear their hooves in pieces.

For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who will not visit those that are cut off, neither will seek those that are scattered, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the flesh of the fat sheep, and will tear their hoofs in pieces.

I am about to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are going astray, and he will not seek the lost or heal the broken. He will not sustain the healthy, but he will devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hooves.

For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land,[ which] shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them– to the shepherds:‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should not shepherds feed the flock?You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the choice animals, but you do not feed the sheep!You have not strengthened the weak, healed the sick, bandaged the injured, brought back the strays, or sought the lost, but with force and harshness you have ruled over them.They were scattered because they had no shepherd, and they became food for every wild beast.My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My sheep were scattered over the entire face of the earth with no one looking or searching for them.

So the LORD God of Israel has this to say about the leaders who are ruling over his people:“ You have caused my people to be dispersed and driven into exile. You have not taken care of them. So I will punish you for the evil that you have done. I, the LORD, affirm it!

I will seek the lost and bring back the strays; I will bandage the injured and strengthen the sick, but the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them– with judgment!

But Jacob said to him,“ My lord knows that the children are young, and that I have to look after the sheep and cattle that are nursing their young. If they are driven too hard for even a single day, all the animals will die.

But if that slave should say to himself,‘ My master is delayed in returning,’ and he begins to beat the other slaves, both men and women, and to eat, drink, and get drunk,then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee, and will cut him in two, and assign him a place with the unfaithful.

“ I have been with you for the past twenty years. Your ewes and female goats have not miscarried, nor have I eaten rams from your flocks.

David replied to Saul,“ Your servant has been a shepherd for his father’s flock. Whenever a lion or bear would come and carry off a sheep from the flock,I would go out after it, strike it down, and rescue the sheep from its mouth. If it rose up against me, I would grab it by its jaw, strike it, and kill it.

The hired hand, who is not a shepherd and does not own sheep, sees the wolf coming and abandons the sheep and runs away. So the wolf attacks the sheep and scatters them.Because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep, he runs away.

“ I tell you the solemn truth, the one who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.

“ But woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You keep locking people out of the kingdom of heaven! For you neither enter nor permit those trying to enter to go in.

This is what the sovereign LORD says: Look, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand my sheep from their hand. I will no longer let them be shepherds; the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore. I will rescue my sheep from their mouth, so that they will no longer be food for them.

But if they had stood in my inner circle, they would have proclaimed my message to my people. They would have caused my people to turn from their wicked ways and stop doing the evil things they are doing.

Because you push with your side and your shoulder, and thrust your horns at all the weak sheep until you scatter them abroad,

“ The experts in the law and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat.Therefore pay attention to what they tell you and do it. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they teach.They tie up heavy loads, hard to carry, and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing even to lift a finger to move them.

Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; he leads the ewes along.
