Then I broke my second staff called Union, breaking the family bond between Judah and Israel.

Whence come wars and whence come fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and covet, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; ye have not, because ye ask not.Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend it in your pleasures.

So I fed the flock of slaughter, verily the poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.

For where jealousy and faction are, there is confusion and every vile deed.

The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and they that vex Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

Then said I, I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let them that are left eat every one the flesh of another.

And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and Sadducees; and the assembly was divided.For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.And there arose a great clamor: and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ part stood up, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: and what if a spirit hath spoken to him, or an angel?And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them, and bring him into the castle.
