So I shepherded the flock intended for slaughter, the oppressed of the flock. I took two staffs, calling one Favor and the other Union, and I shepherded the flock.

You have repudiated the covenant with your servant; you have completely dishonored his crown.

For your name’s sake, don’t despise us. Don’t disdain your glorious throne. Remember your covenant with us; do not break it.

“ Look, the days are coming”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.This one will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors on the day I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt— my covenant that they broke even though I am their master”— the LORD’s declaration.

After those sixty-two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the coming ruler will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come with a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations are decreed.

Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all things take place.

Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish for us the work of our hands— establish the work of our hands!

For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the benefit of my brothers and sisters, my own flesh and blood.They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple service, and the promises.The ancestors are theirs, and from them, by physical descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, praised forever. Amen.

He appointed his beautiful ornaments for majesty, but they made their detestable images from them, their abhorrent things. Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say“ and to seeds,” as though referring to many, but referring to one, and to your seed, who is Christ.My point is this: The law, which came 430 years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously established by God and thus cancel the promise.For if the inheritance is based on the law, it is no longer based on the promise; but God has graciously given it to Abraham through the promise.
