During the night I had a vision, and there before me was a man mounted on a red horse. He was standing among the myrtle trees in a ravine. Behind him were red, brown and white horses.

I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive. I will set in the desert the cypress, the plane and the pine together,

Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

“ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who stands next to me,” declares the Lord of hosts.“ Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; I will turn my hand against the little ones.

Who is this who comes from Edom, in crimsoned garments from Bozrah, he who is splendid in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength?“ It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.”Why is your apparel red, and your garments like his who treads in the winepress?“ I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with me; I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath; their lifeblood spattered on my garments, and stained all my apparel.For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and my year of redemption had come.

Amid thoughts from visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,

Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and majesty!In your majesty ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; let your right hand teach you awesome deeds!

Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:“ I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him,“ Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man’s wife.”

Daniel declared,“ I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.

“ To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:‘ The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands.

At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said,“ Ask what I shall give you.”

My beloved has gone down to his garden to the beds of spices, to graze in the gardens and to gather lilies.

My beloved is mine, and I am his; he grazes among the lilies.
