蓋吾人從前亦昏昧悖逆、徬徨岐途、縱情恣慾、險狠媢嫉；己實可惡、而轉以惡人。

At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

At one time we too acted like fools. We didn’t obey God. We were tricked. We were controlled by all kinds of desires and pleasures. We were full of evil. We wanted what belongs to others. People hated us, and we hated one another.

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.

Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.

Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.Some of you were such, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

You also once walked in those, when you lived in them;

But now, being made free from sin and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification and the result of eternal life.

But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were delivered.

as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance,

Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.For we have spent enough of our past time doing the desire of the Gentiles, and having walked in lewdness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.

being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers,backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;

For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self- control, fierce, not lovers of good,

Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”

“ Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

For I am afraid that by any means, when I come, I might find you not the way I want to, and that I might be found by you as you don’t desire, that by any means there would be strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, whisperings, proud thoughts, or riots,

For if a man thinks himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

Jesus answered them,“ Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin.

He feeds on ashes. A deceived heart has turned him aside; and he can’t deliver his soul, nor say,“ Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?”

He cried with a mighty voice, saying,“ Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a habitation of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird!

The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high, who says in his heart,‘ Who will bring me down to the ground?’

He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.

The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.As it is written,“ There is no one righteous; no, not one.There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.They have all turned away. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, no, not so much as one.”“ Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit.”“ The poison of vipers is under their lips.”“ Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”“ Their feet are swift to shed blood.Destruction and misery are in their ways.The way of peace, they haven’t known.”“ There is no fear of God before their eyes.”Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

You simple, understand prudence! You fools, be of an understanding heart!

But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priestand asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.As he traveled, he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him.He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him,“ Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”He said,“ Who are you, Lord?” The Lord said,“ I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.But rise up and enter into the city, then you will be told what you must do.”
