你们无论做什么事，都不要发怨言起争论，好使你们无可指责，诚实无伪，在这弯曲悖谬的世代作神无瑕疵的儿女。你们在这世代中要像明光照耀，将生命的道显明出来，使我在基督的日子得以夸耀我没有白跑，也没有徒劳。

所以，我希望年轻的寡妇嫁人，生养儿女，治理家务，不让敌人有辱骂的把柄，

若有人传别的教义，不符合我们主耶稣基督纯正的话语与合乎敬虔的教导，

若有人不听从我们这信上的话，要把他记下，不和他交往，使他自觉羞愧；

耶稣说这些话，他的敌人都惭愧了；所有的人因他所做一切荣耀的事都很欢喜。

耶稣见他回答得有智慧，就对他说：“你离神的国不远了。”从此以后，没有人敢再问他什么。

那文士对耶稣说：“好，老师，你说得对，神是一位，除了他以外，再没有别的了；

有一个文士来，听见他们的辩论，知道耶稣回答得好，就问他说：“诫命中哪一条是第一呢？”

你们因耶和华言语而战兢的人哪，当听他的话：“你们的弟兄，就是恨恶你们，因我名赶出你们的，曾说：‘愿耶和华彰显荣耀，好让我们看见你们的喜乐。’但蒙羞的终究是他们！

耶稣对他们说：“凯撒的归凯撒；神的归神。”他们对他非常惊讶。
