不过要以温柔、敬畏的心答复，并且持守无愧的良心，以致谁诋毁你们在基督里的良好品行，谁就要在你们受到诽谤的事上蒙羞。

做任何事都不要抱怨或争论，好使你们成为无可指责、纯洁无伪的人，在这扭曲、败坏的世代中，做神毫无瑕疵的儿女；在这世代中，要像星星的光辉一样照耀在世上。你们要持守生命的话语，好让我在基督的日子里可以夸耀我所奔跑的没有落空，我所劳苦的也没有落空。

所以，我希望年轻的寡妇结婚，生养儿女，料理家务，不给反对的人辱骂的机会。

如果有人传讲别的教义，不符合我们主耶稣基督的健全话语以及那合乎敬神的教导，

如果有人不顺从我们这信上的话语，你们就要记住这个人，不可与他交往，好让他感到羞愧；

耶稣说了这些话，所有反对他的人都感到蒙羞，可是众人都因他所行的一切荣耀的事而感到欢喜。

耶稣见他回答得有智慧，就对他说：“你离神的国不远了。”于是，没有人敢再质问耶稣了。

那经文士就对耶稣说：“不错，老师，你真的讲了：神只有一位，除他以外没有别的神。

有一个经文士前来，听见他们辩论，见耶稣回答得好，就问耶稣：“所有的诫命中，哪一条是最重要的呢？”

因耶和华的话语而战兢的人哪，你们要听他的话！他说：“你们的兄弟，就是那些恨恶你们、因我名的缘故逼迫你们的，曾说：‘愿耶和华得荣耀，好让我们看见你们的喜乐吧！’他们却必蒙羞。”

耶稣对他们说：“凯撒的归给凯撒；神的归给神。”这使他们感到惊奇。
