to be self- controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

The younger women must control themselves and be pure. They must take good care of their homes. They must be kind. They must follow the lead of their husbands. Then no one will be able to speak evil things against God’s word.

to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.

Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies.The heart of her husband trusts in her. She brings her bread from afar.She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.She considers a field, and buys it. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her tongue.She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn’t eat the bread of idleness.Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:“ Many women do noble things, but you excel them all.”Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised.Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!

Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.

In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word,seeing your pure behavior in fear.Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing;but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.For this is how in the past, the holy women who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands.

Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for insulting.

Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Let a woman learn in quietness with full submission.But I don’t permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.

She is loud and defiant. Her feet don’t stay in her house.

However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to Yahweh’s enemies to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you will surely die.”

They asked him,“ Where is Sarah, your wife?” He said,“ There, in the tent.”

For“ the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.

Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?

Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says,
