to be self- controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

The younger women must control themselves and be pure. They must take good care of their homes. They must be kind. They must follow the lead of their husbands. Then no one will be able to speak evil things against God’s word.

to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.

為妻者應順服其夫、此為宗主者之所宜。

其人必須有賢德之稱曾教養兒女善待賓客、且為聖徒洗足、平生濟人之難、周人之急、孳孳為善、惟日不足者、方得稱是。

為婦者應順服其夫、夫即不信聖道、亦當以平日行為感化之不必徒騰口說也。彼既睹爾之貞靜敬恪、亦必欣然歸道矣。毋事外飾、辮髮、金玦、文繡皆非所宜。惟修養內心、以溫柔嫻靜之精神為飾、則可大可久、天主所珍也。在昔懿德之婦、亦莫不以此自飾、仰望天主、敬事其夫。

且此輩飽食終日、無所事事、則必穿門踏戶、遨遊鄰里；不窮無所事事而已、抑且掉其長舌、妄騰口說、則無事而滋事矣。故吾寧願青年寡婦再適、生子宜家、庶幾不予敵人以口實；

然爾等各人亦當愛妻如己；妻當小心翼翼，敬事其夫也。

凡身為奴僕者、當尊敬其主人、庶免天主聖名聖道之被人褻瀆。

約帕有女徒名大比大、希臘語曰多加、平生孳孳為善、博施濟眾；

第爾等當知基督為世人之乾綱、男為女之乾綱、而天主為基督之乾綱也。

妻之事夫、當如事主、蓋夫為妻之乾綱、亦如基督之為教會乾綱、而覆育全身也。是故為妻者當順從其夫、一如教會之順從基督。

婦人宜淵默受教、一心順服、不可令其施教、或掌管男子。幽嫻恬靜、是為婦德。

蓋正如經之所言：『因爾之故、天主之名、為世詬病。』

伯鐸祿遂偕行、既至、引之登樓、諸嫠環之而泣、並出示多加生前所製之衣、

仰天問我主。災厄何時已。豈能容眾逆。凌辱永不止。

婦人在會中宜謹守緘默、不許發言、此乃諸聖教會之通則也。法有明誡、婦人固應順服男子也。
